Hurricane Jose has been hanging around, waiting for attention in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Newcomer Maria threatens to impact the Caribbean Islands already devastated by Hurricane Irma, and brushed by Jose. Hurricane Jose threatens to brush or impact New England. Lee appears to be a fish storm at this time.

Our Central Florida County has a population of 100,000. We are now 98% restored (mine Fri. night). God Bless all of the people who restored hope in this County and all who do in every corner of the USA!

I think it was more like 1.5 million or more. I have a screen shot of the GA Power outage map from around 10PM on Monday 9/11. It shows 897,486 *customers* down. Most are residences, and most have more than one occupant.
GA Power is currently showing only 38 outages and 113 customers without power. Their outage map is pretty slick:

Now, they aren’t 100% of electricity suppliers in GA, but they serve the vast majority of the state.
Great news! Sweet relief! Getting the lights back on is a huge step toward storm recovery.

It’d be nice if this storm just wobbled itself apart, but I don’t think it’s going to happen soon enough...

Maria is at its peak right now on the Water Vapor Imagery with no dry air in its path.
Maria is nearing landfall at maximum strength...

It sounds like the power co. should announce they will not do repairs in areas where they are harassed in the slightest.

Earlier on the eye wall was just a pin prick of a thing...tight as could be..even though it was gaining it strength it retained tiny for quite some time...which as I understand it attested to the power of this beast.
Outer bands have.....lots of rain today even...
