The 2nd Amendment does not exist in New York, why should the rule of law?
The left-leaning (and Warren Buffett owned) Buffalo News has a typical leftist vendetta against Sheriff Howard. They are trying to bring him down with fake news, and his recent statement against Cuomo’s executive order will tick them off even more.
I once wrote an example of how Civil War II will start, and this fits into the scenario I envisioned. Local officials would refuse to implement orders from the state. The state sends in its National Guard and fighting erupts between local, county, state LEOs, and the NG. Federal troops are poised to move in when their orders are countermanded by a fractured federal government. Federal troops split their allegiances, and war begins.

Maybe the Sheriff should arrest the governor for violating immigration law.
This is another Sheriff, who carries out his duties as instructed by the constitution and not by petty politics. He better get ready for a liberal judge to bring charges as was done to our Sheriff Joe Arpio. He will find out he can only enforce laws that are politically correct. Our prayers are with you.

Good for him ignoring this poop stain of a governor.
Reminds me of when 55 of Colorado’s 64 elected sheriffs announced in 2013 they wouldn’t enforce the suite of vague and unconstitutional anti-gun laws passed by the Dem legislature regarding intra-state “transfers” and “high-capacity” magazines.
Actually, it turns out NONE of Colorado’s sheriffs or any other LEO in the state, whether announced or not, have enforced any of those laws EVER!
To the best of my knowledge, not a single case under those laws has ever been brought against a single person or business since these bogus laws were passed here four years ago.
The only consequence that I’m aware of is that the “transfer” law inadvertently made it essentially impossible for any group in the state to conduct gun “buy-backs”.
They will no doubt try to Arpaio sheriff Howard.

Same in Washington State to the best of my knowledge (regarding intrastate transfer requirements).
Just take out the “R” at the end of the url address.
Let me see if I can understand this. The Governor issues an order to break a federal law. The Sheriff refuses to comply. The Governor decides to remove the Sheriff for? Not breaking the law?
