Just build the darn thing that was one of your key positions that won you the election!! We all know that without a wall any enforcement on the border will be left up to the whims of future Congressional critters and future Presidents - HISTORY HAS SHOW ADEQUATE EXAMPLES OF THIS OUTCOME.
No I do not want to depend on border guards, blimps, drones, sound sensing devices, radar, tv, etc as the sole border protection. These are ALL subject to continuing FUNDING from the public treasury and the public has now figured out it can plunder the US Treasury.
A WALL JUST STANDS THERE AND REQUIRES MINIMUM MAINTENANCE (FUNDING).
Koch brothers want the cheap illegal labor express to continue. Make e-verify a national law and watch the Koch brothers change their tune.

Marc Short, remember: “Words have meaning”.
Look this one up in your Funk & Wagnalls.
It’s spelled W A L L.
When someone says “We need to have a conversation about.....”
That is a 100% fail-proof indicator that it is a conversation wo DON”T need to have.

Trump knows what a WALL is - and so do all the ELITE DEMOCRATS who have them around their homes...
Maxine Waters has a wall around her house - so do ALL the Silicon Bigs who donate to the Democrat Party - ask them.

A million curses on Marc Short and his accursed Chamber of Commerce globalist agenda.
The guy is almost sounding like Black Lives Matter and their “We need to have a conversation about white privilege” nonsense.
To: Cheerio
Short, who led the Never Trump movement inside the pro-mass immigration Koch brothers organizations, questioned what exactly a border wall would look like under the administration, while also pushing amnesty for nearly 800,000 illegal aliens shielded by the Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
OK, I give up - why is this guy now part of the administration?
A wall is exactly what Trump said it would be in the campaign - a big, beautiful physical obstruction to illegal aliens simply crossing over the border as they please. This is what was promised, this is what is expected.
Here's what it's not: cameras, drones, signs, increased education, and some other assorted BS about "virtual walls".
Either Trump delivers or he doesn't. I see him surrounding himself with people who don't seem to be on-board with MAGA, but that's his business - I only care about the end result. I'm still waiting.

A conversation, yeah. For some reason I’m reminded of Hillary’s bogus “listening tours”. At this point, perhaps like the president, I’m just waiting to hear their arguments.
Sure, a “conversation” that they never wanted to have over a wall—real border security—and deporting foreigners here illegally, taking our jobs, making our roads unsafe, muling in narcotics, draining our treasury and filling our prisons and jails.
Since 1986, when they promised President Reagan border security in exchange for a general amnesty—and it turned out, for a lot more illegals than they said would be pardoned—Short and others like him have done everything they could to sweep this conversation (on any subject but amnesty) under the rug.
Despite their vicious, pejorative names directed at us, most of us here are fairly reasonable and open minded; unfortunately we can’t say the same for them.
So they can give it their best shot as to why we should continue down this path of pardoning an endless stream of illegal “immigrants” and “refugees”; I use the scare marks because we’re trying to understand how they can use these dishonest terms, day after day, and act surprised when we stay angry.
So, yeah. A conversation. But an honest one. And this is final argument. So far it doesn’t look like anything new. The wall is a given, as president Trump promised: not a flimsy fence topped with sensors bought at Radio Shack close-out, because we can’t trust a thing they say on the subject of border security. We went down that road in 2006 with the Secure Fence act which turned out to be only a sop for their failed final push for another amnesty. As plaintiffs, if they they can’t carry their burden of proof, then their little darlings have to go home.
So let’s have the conversation Marc. The federal government has been busy these past 25 years, but not by doing its job; particularly these past eight years, it has stayed busy by breaking its own laws and blocking the states from protecting themselves from uninterrupted invasion.
We don’t have all day, we’ve got a border to secure and illegals to deport. Get on with it counselor.

President Trump is still working on wall design. Believe it being done in place and there are now four in consideration. Not sure of this but think this is the last I heard.

Old news. Trump said during the Election there would be different structures.
To: Cheerio
"No I do not want to depend on border guards, blimps, drones, sound sensing devices, radar, tv, etc as the sole border protection." A bare wall by itself is useless. Without active routine patrolling, it will quickly be climbed or tunneled under. I am very much in favor of a physical wall where appropriate, but there are places where that is not the best solution.

A solid or semi-solid barrier that is difficult to climb over, tunnel under, go around or breach.
