NFL players now taking their protests onto the field
New York Post ^ | September 17 | Anthony Barstow

The NFL would prefer the players’ now-ubiquitous protests take a back seat to the action this season, but it looks like the league won’t get its wish.

If anything, the players seem ready to take their social critique beyond sitting during the national anthem.

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who is among the ranks of NFL players to sit during the anthem, celebrated a sack Sunday afternoon with a single raised fist.

Bennett was the first Seattle player announced during pregame introductions before the home opener against the 49ers and ****received one of the loudest ovations.**** (NFL fans are becoming pretty much anti-American)

Then he took what’s become his usual seat on the bench during the national anthem.

Protesters supporting Bennett, who says he was subjected to racial profiling and excessive force when Las Vegas police detained him last month, gathered outside the stadium.

Or wash cars. Whatever, they will quickly squander their money the moment their NFL playing days come to an end.

A sad fact is that many wealthy athletes end up broke or in financial difficulty after their careers.

Given the amount of money they get, you or I might set for life, financially, after earning our millions playing sports in our 20s.

But too many just don’t know how to handle their money. I’ve heard that many players also, have an entourage, who are on their payroll, which drains a lot of money away. Some of the entourage includes girls, and you can imagine that child support enters into that as well.

Unsportsman like conduct. Throw the flag. I will march your team backwards to within inches of their goal like if you persist.

If your protest on the field expands any further, you and your head coach will be ejected from the game each with a $50,000 fine.

We can continue this all night and at every game if you insist.

Salty language at times, but he speaks harsh truth. BTW, that comment about doubled sentences in the other thread was aimed more at websites that constantly repeat their articles, you just happened to be there... < BG >

And too stupid to know that Bennett lied about the whole damn thing.

I challenge the coward to walk on the west side of Chicago with no firearm and no bodyguards.

BLM to who??? Certainly not to the black morons playing a watered down version of football.

After seeing Zeke Elliott quit on his team yesterday, even Cowboy fans are hoping he starts serving his suspension, that guy seriously needs to grow the hell up.

Once the big income stops, they cannot accept the fact that they need to cut way back on their extravagant life style. And, many will owe significant amounts in back taxes which will catch up with them.

Many athletes and entertainers simply do not have the smarts and discipline to manage money. A large percentage of them will encounter financial hardships after their careers wind down.

Its a lot easier making money than it is keeping it.

You may want to check your TV settings.

That game was a typical NFL broadcast in ENGLISH....

I know because I actually watched it, and never once did I hear even 1 spanish word.

NFL owners are “permitting g” this under the liberal guise of free speech. I worked in two major corporations for 35 years. There is no free speech in a real corporation. You follow the line or you see the door. I blame the owners.

At first when the NFL needlessly and wantonly screwed over Rush I was angry and hurt.

but now I realize rush really really dodged a bullet, he would have lost money.

he would have gotten it on the NFL right as it began declining.

"They will stop having the NA before the games start."

So then....they'll do some protest crap on the field during the game.

Any new hires must have a 'no protest' clause in their contract.(Play ball only!!)
