Several NASCAR team owners said Sunday they would not condone racers protesting during the national anthem, amid protests by sports players at football and baseball games.
There were no protests reported during The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in New Hampshire, according to The Associated Press.
Former NASCAR champion Richard Petty told the AP that any member of his team would be fired if they chose to protest the national anthem. Petty now owns Richard Petty Motorsports.
Anybody that dont stand up for the anthem oughta be out of the country. Period. What got em where theyre at? The United States, Petty said in comments reported by The AP. Richard Childress, a former drive who owns Richard Childress Racing, said any protests from his team members would get you a ride on a Greyhound bus.
Anybody that works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people gave their lives for it. This is America, Childress reportedly said.
The comments from the NASCAR owners come as NFL players took part in protests at games across the country after Trump slammed players who take a knee, rather than stand, during the national anthem.
"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now,'" Trump said during a Friday rally. "'He is fired.'"

Yep. Villanueva is a West Point grad, paratrooper, Ranger, platoon leader, 3x Afghanistan warfighter, and is 6’9” & 300 lbs. He couldn’t GAF what the BLM thugs think.
Excellent!
God Bless NASCAR and the NHL.
Maybe. All I know is that post Charlottsville, they sanitized all NASCAR racing venues by removing anything that vaguely resembled a Confederate flag or logo.
Until they do.
My point of view about this subject is not so much about the player disrespecting the flag or the nation because that is his right as a citizen to think what he likes.
But for me it is an employee issue. These men are bringing their companys reputations in to disrepute.
They are on the field (their work place), in uniform (their companys logo) and on the clock.
They are being paid to represent their employer. On the field they have no right to express their own opinions; political or otherwise.
And in my personal opinion is when you are paid at the level of a quarterback even on your own time you had better be very careful about what you say and do. Those people are always under the watchful eye of the press and anything they do is easily made a nationwide scandal.
I believe that the Team should be able to fine a player for making scandal that brings the team poor press.
Leagues like the NFL, the NBA, Major League Baseball, and NHL are comprised of independently-owned teams that operate as a cartel under a league management structure that is set up by the owners.
NASCAR is completely different, with NASCAR functioning as a sanctioning body (the "league") completely separate from the racing teams. There is also the added complication of race tracks that are owned independently and play a big role in the success of the business. The contractual relationships between NASCAR, the racing teams and the track owners are unlike anything you'll find in any of the other major sports.
Thanks Ennis85.
Outstanding.
False. Ignorant or intentional?
Now, go back over to Stormfront where you belong.
Because if they did they would lose even more viewers than they are currently. That being said I am glad Nascar has made a stand against that nonsense.
Well, Bubba Wallace certainly is no Wendell Scott.
I dont think Bubba Wallace would ever dream of doing that thug crap and neither would the other crewmen who are black. It aint about color, its about racing.
Not a lot of black drivers, so shouldnt be a problem.
I may be mistaken but I thought the guy who runs nascar bowed down to the leftist confederate battle flag haters after that south carolina shooting a few years back. I could be wrong because but I sure thought they tried to force the fans to do something that pissed me off at the time. But admittedly I don’t watch nascar so I may have gotten that wrong. But I am glad to hear they are standing up for this country’s flag.
And people wonder why I love NASCAR !!!!
IF I were a car/team owner, I would also fire under the same thoughts of King Richard....
