YES. The fact government pays for this and the DOD has paid for patriotic displays, the NFL is following the simple rule that when government (and especially its money) is involved, Leftists immediately see it as a target for infiltration.

Shut down ALL government money, to all sports.

I wonder if any team will view this as an opportunity to increase their fan-base?

You have four possible team attitudes towards the flag protests:

Type 1: Total Disrespect. Team fully supports disrespecting the flag, the whole team is involved, including coaches and maybe even owners.
Examples: The Pittsburgh Steelers. The Seattle Seahawks.

Type 2: Tolerating Disprespect One or more players are protesting, and the club is tolerating them. Examples: 49ers with Kappernack last year.

Type 3: Punishing Disresepct One or more players try it, and get suspended or fired.
Examples: none that I am aware of

Type 4: Patriotic Respect The entire team makes a point of doing a first-class job on the Naitonal Anthem, at attention, hands on heart.
Examples: Nobody so far.

If some team or teams decided to go full Type 4 they might pick up a lot of fans. Sort of really BE America's Team, like the Cowboys used to claim to be.

It is, after all, a competitive entertainment business, and i see a real opening for clever marketing here.

I'd by that team jersey just to piss off all the tards supporting the Seahawks in this area.
