The story behind the Trump Effect, from the Editor-in-Chief
Reuters ^ | September 28, 2017 | by Stephen J. Adler

Posted on 09/28/2017 1:31:11 PM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

Shortly after Donald J. Trump became U.S. president last January, I wrote a memo to the Reuters staff providing guidance on how to cover the new Administration. The gist was that we should proceed as we would with any leader in the world, whether that leader admired journalists or viewed them as the enemy.

That meant trying not to take sides or to make ourselves the story but rather to work dispassionately on behalf of Reuters users, who would need honest, carefully sourced, vigorous reporting on what this presidency meant for them.

Today, we are taking this approach even further by launching a project called "The Trump Effect: Tracking the Impact of the President's Policies."

We will work to ensure that The Trump Effect keeps you on top of news that matters, as well as serving as a useful resource to check on the state of play in a particular policy area. I welcome you to The Trump Effect.

You suppose Reuters will run specials on The Obama Effect? Rising health insurance costs. Racial strife. Debt. Zero economic growth. North Korea. Iran. Labor participation rate. Military readiness. Deep State. Corrupt DOJ, FBI, CIA, IRS, State Dept....

Amazing that some in the Press ‘seem to be’ finally coming around. But let’s wait and see what they actually end up doing.

Because we know that leftists hate conservatives as part of their genetic code. If I see some firings related to this new approach, I will be more hopeful.

You need to start trying much, much harder, because you ain't getting the job done.

The man who wrote this. Reuters editor Stephen J. Adler, is brother in law to Mandy Grunwald, a top tier Dem Party political consultant.
Just think of Reuters as Dem Party operatives with bylines.

The Trump effect:

Final reading on Q2 GDP up 3.1%, vs 3% rise expected

U.S. economic output grew 3.1 percent in the second quarter.

The growth rate was expected to remain at 3 percent according to a survey of economists from The Wall Street Journal.

The economy at its core remains stable, as steady job growth and a booming stock market encourage households to spend.

“... we should proceed as we would with any leader...”

I haven’t notice Reuters blatantly attacking any other leader, so they failed on that part. I doubt if they will ever be honest in their reporting on Trump, if they did, they wouldn’t be invited to all the cool parties.

The Reuters editor in chief, Stephen Adler, is married to Lisa Grunwald—a Dem Party donor.
Don’t believe for a second that Reuters will cover Trump fairly.

honest, carefully sourced, vigorous reporting

Uh-huh. It was around 1998 when Reuters became the first news org to forbid the use of the term “terrorist” in their reporting.

terrorism, terrorist

Reuters may refer without attribution to terrorism and counterterrorism in general, but do not refer to specific events as terrorism. Nor does Reuters use the word terrorist without attribution to qualify specific individuals, groups or events.

“Terrorism” and “terrorist” must be retained when quoting someone in direct speech. When quoting someone in indirect speech, care must be taken with sentence structure to ensure it is entirely clear that they are the source’s words and not a label.

“Terrorism” and “terrorist” should not be used as single words in quotation marks (e.g., “terrorist”) or preceded by so-called (e.g., a so-called terrorist attack), since that can be taken to imply a value judgement. Use a fuller quote if necessary.

“Terror,” or “terror attack” or “terror cell,” should also be avoided to describe specific events or groups, except in direct quotes.

Report the subjects of news stories objectively, describing their actions, identity and background. Aim for a dispassionate use of language so that individuals, organisations and governments can make their own judgment on the basis of facts. Seek to use more specific terms, such as “bomber” or “bombing,” “hijacker” or “hijacking,” “attacker” or “attacks,” “gunman” or “gunmen,” etc.

Where can I find
“The Putin Effect: Tracking the Impact of the President’s Policies.”
“The Merkel Effect: Tracking the Impact of the President’s Policies.”
And why did it take so long to treat Trump like any leader in the world by publishing “The Trump Effect: Tracking the Impact of the President’s Policies.”?
