President Trump reacted to the Las Vegas attack by saying, “We’ll be talking about gun laws as time goes by.” According to the Washington Times, Trump praised the police response to the attack, saying on Tuesday the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police did an “incredible job.” He added, “How quickly the police department was able to get in was really very much of a miracle. They’ve done an amazing job.”

But after praising the police, Trump made clear a discussion on gun laws is coming:

and then since the criminals don’t have any guns we can talk about the rest.

Why would we do such a foolish thing? The only "talk" I want to hear from our servants in Washington is talk about REPEALING gun laws.

Some restraints on fully auto may be appropriate, but Trump knows we would rather kill all the gun grabbers then let them take our guns. We are not Euroweenies. We are not dead Mexicans. And we are not Venezuela.

Trump is a dealmaker. Ban on bumpfire stocks in exchange for nationwide constitutional carry or even just nationwide CCW?

There is no deal on the Bill of Rights.

The left can get bent. Some nut that is one of there own does not determine whether or not I can defend my family or friends.

The left seems to know that their own are the lunatics.

“That would be the end of my support for Trump.”

I’m assuming the president is smarter than that.

You’re right except there won’t be any gun control legislation signed by Trump.

Sure. In about two weeks. You watch.

No, dumbass, the NRA doesn’t run the country.

The NRA has about 4.5 million members or about .014 percent of the US population, whereas approximately 55 million US citizens choose to exercise their rights under the US Constitution. Some of us actually believe in the sanctity of the rights guaranteed by the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, not just the ones we choose to exercise.

If Trump goes for gun control, he’ll find out why so many Democrats don’t - at least openly.

Not me. “Trust, but verify”.

The President chose his words very carefully. As long as he sticks to the Constitution/BoR, then he’s still ok in my book.

No. Name one “restraint” that would have prevented this jackwagon from doing what he did. Keep in mind he had ZERO criminal history and plenty of money to burn.

you’re right, I was just playing among. Gun ownership is one thing that cuts across party lines enough to make it a non-starter for congress. (usually)

Was that a typo?

Not trying to rush to judgement, but your comment comes across as supportive of further restrictions on the 2nd Amendment.

The ‘take a knee jerk’ crowd are always prone to seeing a law being broken, and then making the consequences on those who had nothing to do with it.
So a mad gunner, who happens to be a democrat, opens up on a crowd and then it is the rest of the responsible gun owners who have to pay for the insanity?

-Didn’t the mad gunner break existing laws?
-How can any new law stop something that existing laws couldn’t stop?

Murder is illegal.
Full stop.
