Perhaps The security guard is in on the plot.
Hard to believe Paddock only hit him one time and in the leg with as much weaponry as he had. What kind of uniforms do security guards wear?
Maybe a much larger attack was planned and Paddock just went for it.
Or maybe the security guard shot Paddock, then was the shooter himself.
At least half the time of the police news conferences were spent in lavish self-praise of the response of law enforcement.
The timeline of events should be one of the easier parts of the investigation to piece together. If they’re scrambling on this the are either extremely inept, or some serious money is trying to limit their apparent liability.
As yet, I'm not sure who gave the information on when the guard was shot to the police. Initially though, in a fluid and confused situation, that's what the police went with. So who would be hurt by the change of the information? The police don't look good for their response time, so changing the information to an earlier time doesn't make them look any better, yet they are still standing by the change. The police have had time now to review tapes and interview the guard. On the other hand, changing the timeline does not make the resort look too good either. But THEY ARE objecting to the different timeline! Do THEY sense some legal liability here? Are THEY hiding something?
They need to waterboard his weird brother :) Really, how do we know he isn’t going to do something similar? They need to be going over that guy’s history with a fine toothed comb.
The murderer sent his GF away to a safe place, sent her at least $100000. Does anyone believe he didn’t give even more to his mother and brother?
Not for a moment do I believe he went from just some guy.... to a mass murderer without some carnage in the middle....
I don’t see any advantage or reason to lie about the particulars given. I also notice that MGM offers no alternative timeline, and they don’t say what they “dispute”.

The police better get out in front of all this information/misinformation that is floating out there if they have any hope of being viewed as credible....

If you have one watch, you know what time it is. If you have two watches you never really know what time it is, and if you have hundreds of watches you have a hard time knowing what day it is. Logs of events are not that accurate, especially when confusion reigns and a situation is evolving.
And yet not a single, not one, video of anything that occurred on that floor that evening. Mandalay Bay must unique in that they do not use video cameras. Or that just protocol in gambling resorts?
