Response for Erdogan calling Kurds “occupiers”: Here we are, come (Iraq)
ANF News ^ | Saturday, 7 Oct 2017, 00:00 | ANF KIRKUK

PUK MP Mihemed Hecî Osman spoke about Erdoğan’s comments that Kurds “have no right there, they are in an occupying position” and said: “These are words of malign intent. If they are considering an invasion, here we are, they are welcome."

Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Kirkuk MP in the Iraqi Parliament Mihemed Hecî Osman responded to Erdoğan’s comments that Kurds “have no right there, they are in an occupying position”. Mihemed Hecî Osman spoke to the ANF about Erdoğan’s comments and said: “These are the first words of malign intent. If they are considering an invasion, here we are, they are welcome.”

“ERDOĞAN SHOULD LOOK UP IRAQ’S HISTORY”

Osman stated that in order to understand the reality of Kirkuk better, one needs to look at history, and added that Kurds have come up in first place in all elections held in Iraq. Osman said: “For a long time now, Erdoğan and Erdoğanists have been trying to push Kurds out of Kirkuk like former regimes of Iraq did. But the former regimes in Iraq failed, and became fugitives themselves, having to leave Kirkuk in the end. In 1921, so since the founding of Iraq, in all elections Kurds have come up in first place in Kirkuk. During the republic, during the kingdom, during coups and during the Saddam era. In elections from the 1930’s and 40’s until the Saddam coup, Kurds had the highest percentage of the vote.”

SEAT DISTRIBUTION IN THE IRAQI PARLIAMENT

Osman also spoke about the current representation in Kirkuk and said: “After Saddam’s exiles, when we returned to Kirkuk in 2003, this situation stayed the same. Right now, Kirkuk has 13 seats in the Iraqi parliament. One of these goes to the Syriacs with the quota. From the remaining 12, 8 belong to the Kurds. This is evidence, these are documents.”

“HERE WE ARE, HE IS WELCOME”

Osman addressed Erdoğan and asked, “How can a man who calls himself a ‘world leader’ lie like this? How can he feel this is appropriate for himself?” Osman continued: “If this is what is called politics, it’s not. These words serve only one goal: To invade Kirkuk. To confiscate the riches of Kirkuk. There is no other interpretation. These are the first words of malign intent. But if they do have such an idea, here we are. As long as there is one last Kurd left, we won’t give up Kirkuk. It is our ancestors’ land.”

ONLY WAY OUT FOR OUR PEOPLE: NATIONAL UNITY

Iraqi Parliament MP Mihemed Hecî Osman stated that Erdoğan’s true face has been exposed in Northern Kurdistan and added: “Any Kurdish political forces or parties who still have hopes for Erdoğan should see his true intention already. This man is the enemy of Kurds and Kurdistan. He can’t be a friend. What else is needed to see this fact? The events in Northern Kurdistan are out there for all to see. Erdoğan is responsible for these. If he can, he will do the same in Southern Kurdistan. In the face of all these, our people have only one way out, and that is national unity.

WHAT DID ERDOĞAN SAY ABOUT KIRKUK?

Erdoğan spoke on the plane on his way back from Iran and said the following about Kirkuk:

“The Kurds have no legal claim there. Actually their position right now is that of the invader. They have power, and they have always had the aspiration to enter Kirkuk using that power. But right now, the central government will take the necessary steps for Kirkuk. Our meetings continue with Iraq and Iran. Whatever the necessary steps are, they will be taken. We will step in for Kirkuk and for Mosul.”

Erdogan conspires with Iran and tries to play Assad and Russia. I think he falls with all, but he thinks he can prevail.

Mihemed Hecî Osman is correct. The only way out of this for Kurds is national unity.

Recently Jalal Talabani died:

Kurdistan bids farewell to Great Uncle Jalal Talabani

Talabani was paid a genuine complement:

At the funeral service Qubad asked the people to put their hands together and pledge that they will keep the unity that President Talabani had long advocated for.

Yes, some in the region think he is weak. I’ve read things that would lead me to agree.

A large part of Turkey is brainwashed and rabidly for Erdogan. He has put Turkey in a weak position. He is full of bluster, but I believe a strong committed military could defeat him now. They do exist now.

Kurds “have no right there, they are in an occupying position.”

Dear Mr. Erdogan: For that matter, the Turks are just "occupiers" in Anatolia. Take your brownshirts and go back to Turkistan, you road-company Hitler.

Kirkuk is a critical issue to be determined in settling Iraq - especially if the Kurdish Regional Government goes ahead with Independence. The US (when we were administering Iraq) had to kick the can down the road on the status of Kirkuk, for later resolution.

Kirkuk was historically a majority Kurdish area, that was forcibly ethnically cleansed by Saddam. Since the liberation of Iraq from Saddam’s Ba’ath Party, Kurds have been returning to the area.

Kirkuk is also particularly rich in oil reserves.

Because of the oil, it is a flashpoint that the Kurds and Arabs contest strongly. That makes it a key lever for any foreign power (notably Turkey) seeking to foment conflict between the Kurds and Baghdad.

Turkey really turned things around after the Armenian massacre. They got a good leader who wanted to build up his country the right way. Even though he was muslim he hired Jewish professors from Germany who had been removed by Hitler. The Turkish universities became great places of learning. Turkey became our ally in WWII and in all the wars before the Erdy-nut took over.

Now he has been declared dictator with all powers a dictator needs. All of that previous good work has went straight to hell.

Your observations are correct but the reality was somewhat less real.

And Kemal’s emphasis upon secularism, was twisted into a slow cultural genocide. My conclusion, they never intended to becoming truly Westernized.

They are Kurds living in Kurdistan.

Arabs came from Arabia and are thus invaders, wherever they are now living. For Arabs to use the term “invaders” or “occupiers” to describe Kurds, Israelis, or any other group is idiocy.

Erdogan is indeed the enemy of Kurds and Kurdish territorial disputes. If he had his way they’d all be wiped out!...oil or not!

Erdogan is no nations friend....the mans interest are to conquer and the heart of all his decisions....wants to be the “Great Sultan”.....he’s one sick cookie!

I think even Putin would rather not have to deal with Erdogan.....he knows the guys unstable to say the least.

Kurds are worthy of being a nation of their own.....but as usual Erdogan is the primary instigator of so much that goes wrong in the ME. He’s the worst kind of leader and will pimp himself into any bed that gives him what he wants.
