Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) put forward a gun control bill Tuesday designed to ban the manufacture, sale, or possession of bump stock accessories in the United States.
Breitbart News reported that Barack Obama’s ATF approved bump stocks for sale because they are accessories, not conversion devices. In other words, they do not convert a semiautomatic into an automatic. Curbelo gets around this with legislation that bans accessories that “increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic 16 rifle but [do] not convert” it into an automatic. ...
Curbelo’s bill, which is yet to be titled, focuses on accessories that speed the rate of fire for a semiautomatic without turning it into a fully automatic weapon. The language is broad and all-encompassing: “[The bill will] prohibit the manufacture, possession, or transfer of any part or combination of parts that is designed and functions to increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but does not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machinegun, and for other purposes.”

Very bizarre, I think Carlos Curbelo's positions are mostly "conservative" on paper (he claims to be pro-life, pro-gun rights, pro-traditional marriage, pro-school vouchers, anti-embryonic stem cell funding, anti-Obamacare, anti-tax hikes, supportive of Trump's immigration ban, etc.)
He must have REALLY turned hardcore traitor and veered hard left to establish a RAT style voting record that would make Connie Morella blush. Has Pete McCloskey endorsed him yet?
What a complete waste of time. Just watched a video that by removing a spring turns the weapon in to a full automatic weapon. No filing, no needed kitsb just remove a spring.

Curbelo is pro-gay marriage, he was known to be not especially conservative when he first ran.
I didn’t think he’d quite be another Illeana though, his ACU rating (can’t go just by them as they are erratic) at least is actually worse than hers.
He is however well to the right of Joe Garcia or any other Florida rat and I doubt he’s as bad as his putrid ACU rating would indicate, I would not put him on par with Connie Morella, whose lifetime ACU rating was similar, I’m sure she’d get a zero today with how they’ve seemingly changed their scale. The wench (Morella) had been surprisingly loyal to the party but that ended when she endorsed Shillery last year.
And he’s not alone. He has at least 9 Repub co-sponsors.

In order to measure if a part or combination of parts increases the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle, you first need to establish the normal rate of fire.
What is the 'normal' rate of fire for an AR? How do you define the 'normal' rate of fire for a semiatuo?

Curbelo already votes further left than the Democrat he defeated, Joe Garcia, in his first year (Garcia only got an 80% leftist rating in 2013 and lifetime of 84% leftist). This guy needs to be primaried hard next year.
