Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) put forward a gun control bill Tuesday designed to ban the manufacture, sale, or possession of bump stock accessories in the United States.
Breitbart News reported that Barack Obama’s ATF approved bump stocks for sale because they are accessories, not conversion devices. In other words, they do not convert a semiautomatic into an automatic. Curbelo gets around this with legislation that bans accessories that “increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic 16 rifle but [do] not convert” it into an automatic. ...
Curbelo’s bill, which is yet to be titled, focuses on accessories that speed the rate of fire for a semiautomatic without turning it into a fully automatic weapon. The language is broad and all-encompassing: “[The bill will] prohibit the manufacture, possession, or transfer of any part or combination of parts that is designed and functions to increase the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but does not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machinegun, and for other purposes.”

But I don’t believe for one second he’s to the left of Garcia despite the ratings of the inconsistent ACU. And even if he is (which he’s not), the vote for Pelosi and to put dem majorities and chairman on every committee is an automatic minus 10000 points for any rat.
Banning bump stocks may be idiotic, but the isn't idiotic for the reasons people are criticizing it for. It would not cover belts or fingers.
So every gun owner would then have have all their fingers cut off then according to this since fingers increase the rate of fire on any firearm.
Now that I think about it they increase the rate bombs blow up and help steer a truck or plane into a crowd or hold knives.
That’s it! We aren’t taking any chances. From now on all Rat’s have to have their fingers cut off. They can keep their thumbs because we are generous that way. Their mental illness just makes it too much of a risk to let them keep their fingers. We can keep ours of course because we belong to the ‘normals’ group.

I think you are blowing it up waaay too much. He has a bunch of libs in his district and is trying to stay viable. Dade county(Miami) is changing. We already support him in the Keys,and if we had a more conservative candidate he would lose for sure in Dade county which is full of obama liberals.Those people are used to third worlders lying to them all the time on the left.
Carlos is only interested in not being able to convert rifles to automatic. Maybe the wording is wrong he will get it right.

Unless Trump can kill off the 95 million still on welfare,we are going to see this trend in many areas. Some on welfare can get the equivalent of $30 per hour with all the benefits there are.They are qualified for jobs that pay 8-12 bucks per hour.
Unless the welfare state is dismantled its going to be tough sledding in many districts.Worst part is its unsustainable with high birth rates which all the third worlders have.

Well heavy pressure came down on the Republican and the NRA collective heads in a short period so Curbelo’s gun control isn’t going to see the light of day. Ryan punted it to the ATF to make any changes according to the LA Times. The ATF knows bump stocks arer legal under current federal regulatory statutes. They should resist all the political knee jerking going around and Trump being their boss should make that easier.

We had a guy from Cutler Ridge,ed MacDougall, now Cutler Bay who was ultra conservative,he was the mayor of Cutler Ridge and he ran for office.I can’t recall if it was the same seat as carlos or not but it was similar since he needed us and a much bigger portion of Dade county.
This guy was a bull dog, he never missed any meeting we had in the Keys and carried the keys with 70 or 80% but lost since miami always votes spanish and they overwhelmed what he did down here.
Last time I saw him he was with the Trump adm. doing well.

It’s one thing to expect a 100% Conservative, quite another to merely expect someone who votes remotely with the party. This guy is to the left of my Democrat Congressman in Nashville.
David Rivera, the previous GOP occupant of the seat (before Democrat Garcia, who Cubelo defeated), at least got a 72% Conservative rating. There’s no reason these occupants shouldn’t be at that level.

What’s a disgrace is watching the Florida Cuban-American members (in 2 decades) go from being at least center-right to hardly that far afield from the very ideology in the gulag they (or their parents) escaped.
