heh heh

They could get a Twins - Rockies series that might have to be moved out of both cities!

Me too.

The bad bounce on the ground ball to Kubeck was the catalyst for the Pirates comeback.

>>>I gave up on baseball during the 81 strike season. Have not missed it.

>>I can understand that but lots of good guys in the bigs yet.

It made it easier to give up with how bad the Pirates were in the 80’s and 90’s. They had a resurgence when they brought in that Barry Bonds kid, way back when he was shaped like a a normal human. And he would lead them to the playoffs and then smell up the place. Totally disappointing.

Unlike my all time favorite Pirate of all time, Willie Stargell, who would shine in the post season. Once Pops retired my love for the game went with him. I turned to Basketball in the 80’s, and was a big Lakers and Celtics fan. But then Magic Johnson and Larry Bird retired and the new basketball role models became bad-boys. So I turned back to football, and now have probably watched my last football game. Sigh! It’s sad when I turn to golf for a manly (man = honorable gentleman in my book) sport.

I loved Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and when they both retired I stopped watching for a long time. But I’ve picked up on golf again the last few years. Now that Woods and his gutter mouth are gone.

As an old Pittsburgh diehard fan, I will watch them until they truly disrespect the Anthem. Hope not. I am considering the NHL subscription but may not buy it until January after the holidays. Not enough time. I play golf more than watch it but find it pretty interesting. Statistics are fascinating to me. Example... on the Tour there were ten players who went all of 2016 and NEVER missed a putt from 3 feet in. Pretty wild.

Maz belongs to one of the most exclusive clubs in baseball. Those who have ended the season/world series with a walk off home run. The only other member is Joe Carter for the 1993 world series when he took Mitch “Wild Thing” Williams deep in game 6.

Didnt know that. Another really odd thing about that Pirate Yankee seventh game. Not one strikeout recorded entire game. How rare is that?

You’re missing out on Mike Trout, Jose Altuve, Aaron Judge. There’s still some class acts among baseball’s star players.

My sixth grade teacher was a nun from Pittsburgh, and yeah, we got to watch that game 7 in class as well. Didn’t really care for the Bucs one way or the other, but I was happy to see the Yankees go down (they dominated the AL so completely back then), and of course watching the Series was easily preferable to whatever else we were supposed to be doing.

The '60 WS was the last WS before I was born (10 and 1/2 months later). My parents had been married less than a month. BTW Danny Murtaugh's mom baby sat my mom when she was little in Chester, PA.
