Oh, those poor men who were willing to commit sex crimes. Their lives might be destroyed, unlike those people whom they are having sex with, right?
After all, those women and children they are going after really like it, don't they? They're not being held against their will.
It's amazing how many FReepers are willing to make the cops the bad guys and the men who are actively seeking to engage in sex crime the victims.
Maybe we should take the libertarian view and sex crimes sex crimes like drug crimes.
Legalize the sex rings and let the government control it. Then it can be taxed and controlled by the government and it removes crime off the streets. And just like the government would provide the drugs to undercut the black market on them, they could provide the women and children for the sexual perverts to enjoy.
And voila', no more sex crime. Our sex crime problem has been eradicated.
And no more poor male victims of police stings. After all, we wouldn't want to ruin the lives of those men who are maybe having sexual emergencies they are dealing with, right?
Right?
And for the sarcasm challenged, that solution is SARCASM.
Those guys are fortunate that it's Sheriff Judd they are dealing with for now and not God.
HE takes a dimmer view of sexual deviancy than people do.
They did not commit anything. They expressed intent at max due to a trapping by law enforcement officers who are instigators. Thought crimes next.
“After all, we wouldn’t want to ruin the lives of those men who are maybe having sexual emergencies they are dealing with, right?”
Do you think it would be moral for undercover police to walk around a park full of office workers while openly marketing heroin? So a few of those workers on their lunch break can have an “emergency”, get arrested and ruin their lives.
The police in many of those cases may be triggering addicts who otherwise would have stayed sober.
IMO, by creating enticing marketing and waving it around, the police themselves are guilty of encouraging whatever they are trying to stop.
Some of these dating sites also take snippets of ads and post them on banners. So someone can be viewing a completely innocent site and get hit with a police ad from a remote site professionally designed to encourage prostitution. And if they are in the midst of an addiction, they may click on it and the cops will fully indulge their addiction while encouraging them to meet. WRONG
