Florida police arrested 277 people -- including doctors, cops and pharmacists -- during a weeklong undercover sex sting operation.
During the operation, undercover detectives and investigators from several law enforcement agencies posted false advertisements on websites, social media sites and phone apps posing as prostitutes or to solicit sex workers."
One of the men arrested, Judd said, was a sergeant at his office. Sgt. Luis Diaz, who had been on the force for 17 years, resigned after the sting, FOX13 reported.

The crime is solicitation. Buying stolen goods to catch thieves is a similar police sting.
Arresting the users in hopes that the dealers will go away... doesn’t work for sex crimes either.
“Arrest people after they have evidence of a crime instead of manufacturing a crime?”
Exactly. There was no crime! Unless running a confidence game by the perpetrators if the sting is considered a crime. A civvie running a con would be hauled into court.
I never understood the legality of sting operations. It resembles theatre.
Polk County Sheriff Judd is a great sheriff - if you are on the right side of the law!!
Busting middle-class prostitution customers is far less risky to cops than kicking in some gang-banger’s door. Middle-class johns are also far less likely to start a riot over it. Given a choice, the cops will take the less risky route.
This is Polk County, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd.
He runs these stings at least once a year and they include hetero, homo and pedo stings. If animals were on the internet he would probably have a bestiality sting too.
He is a great Sheriff and Polk County is one of the safest places in the country to live.
Sure, the police should wait until these pervs destroy another life before arresting them for being willing to commit a known crime.
That’s the ticket.
I’m sure their victims would really appreciate that, wouldn’t they?
Does it occur to you that if they were not willing to commit the crime, they wouldn’t be in any trouble to begin with?
Nobody held a gun to their heads and forced them to respond to the solicitations. If they are willing to break the law, it’s on their heads if they get caught. They have no one to blame but themselves.
And again, how else to you propose catching them? Give us your better ideas.
Where are they going to get the evidence?
From the the women and kids held captive who can’t report the crime?
Oh, those poor men who were willing to commit sex crimes. Their lives might be destroyed, unlike those people whom they are having sex with, right?
After all, those women and children they are going after really like it, don't they? They're not being held against their will.
It's amazing how many FReepers are willing to make the cops the bad guys and the men who are actively seeking to engage in sex crime the victims.
Maybe we should take the libertarian view and sex crimes sex crimes like drug crimes.
Legalize the sex rings and let the government control it. Then it can be taxed and controlled by the government and it removes crime off the streets. And just like the government would provide the drugs to undercut the black market on them, they could provide the women and children for the sexual perverts to enjoy.
And voila', no more sex crime. Our sex crime problem has been eradicated.
And no more poor male victims of police stings. After all, we wouldn't want to ruin the lives of those men who are maybe having sexual emergencies they are dealing with, right?
Right?
And for the sarcasm challenged, that solution is SARCASM.
Those guys are fortunate that it's Sheriff Judd they are dealing with for now and not God.
HE takes a dimmer view of sexual deviancy than people do.
They did not commit anything. They expressed intent at max due to a trapping by law enforcement officers who are instigators. Thought crimes next.
“Busting middle-class prostitution customers is far less risky to cops than kicking in some gang-bangers door.”
Yup. Putting on a show of wasting police resources on middle class desk jockeys looking for a service from consenting adults.
Like the time cops pulled a year long operation pretending to be high school kids to bust a few teen weed sellers.
While the elite and human traffickers are still smuggling children in chains and selling them like livestock.
Talk about your lowest hanging f’n fruit...
SICKENING!
84 kids rescued from human trafficking, one was 3-months-old

“After all, we wouldn’t want to ruin the lives of those men who are maybe having sexual emergencies they are dealing with, right?”
Do you think it would be moral for undercover police to walk around a park full of office workers while openly marketing heroin? So a few of those workers on their lunch break can have an “emergency”, get arrested and ruin their lives.
The police in many of those cases may be triggering addicts who otherwise would have stayed sober.
IMO, by creating enticing marketing and waving it around, the police themselves are guilty of encouraging whatever they are trying to stop.
Some of these dating sites also take snippets of ads and post them on banners. So someone can be viewing a completely innocent site and get hit with a police ad from a remote site professionally designed to encourage prostitution. And if they are in the midst of an addiction, they may click on it and the cops will fully indulge their addiction while encouraging them to meet. WRONG
At this time, I'm listening to a detailed report/interview on the Laura Ingraham show regarding all those players and the sale to Russia of Uranium One...deep-state bribes, lies, coverup now under investigation by Senator Grassley (likely no coverage by the RATagandists)
Reporter Sara Carter, full piece available on Laura Ingraham website.
Sounds like good ol-fashioned ENTRAPMENT to me.
Here's the next big Hollywood democrat-donor mega crime scene:

I guess Sgt. Luis Diaz didn’t get the memo or didn’t read it. Opps!
Actually, casual Johns publicly arrested often do quit. And the example keeps a lot of people who are tempted from risking it.
>From the the women and kids held captive who cant report the crime?
How does setting up a fake prostitution ring catch people who holding women and child captive?
>Sure, the police should wait until these pervs destroy another life before arresting
You might as well arrest people for using tinder then. That’s causing a lot more harm than prostitution. Cheating and STDs are rampant thanks to one little app.
