“So far, he’s copped to sexual harassment.”

Nope. Telling a joke, even a dirty one, is not sexual harassment.

“Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VII applies to employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and to labor organizations, as well as to the federal government.

Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual’s employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual’s work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.”

https://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/publications/fs-sex.cfm

“Although laws surrounding sexual harassment exist, they generally do not prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or minor isolated incidents — that is, they do not impose a “general civility code”.[3] In the workplace, harassment may be considered illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such as the victim being fired or demoted, or the victim quitting the job).”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_harassment

If telling a joke that someone takes offense to was illegal, all joking would have to stop.

"The term sexual assault, in lay person terms, usually refers to an attack on a person that is sexual in nature. The legal definition of this term actually differs, however, from state to state. In some states, sexual assault is synonymous with rape – forced sexual intercourse or sexual contact without consent – while other states have no crime known as sexual assault and instead define sexual conduct without consent as rape, criminal sexual penetration, criminal sexual contact and sexual battery...

...Most states criminalize sexual conduct that does not include penetration, oral sex or sodomy, but that is conduct that is sexual in nature and occurs without the other person’s consent. This conduct usually is referred to as sexual battery or criminal sexual contact. (Note: Some states define sexual battery as sexual penetration while others define it as only sexual touching.) A common definition for sexual battery is touching of an intimate part of the body (clothed or unclothed, depending on the state) for the purpose of sexual arousal or pleasure, without the other person’s consent; or forcing another person to touch an intimate part of the offender’s body."

Maybe, but it really all hinges on whether or not she sees anything wrong with it, as in this case with GHWB.

If the victim of behavior described in the sexual assault laws states that she believes she was, in fact, sexually assaulted, then BOOM.

I still think you are making this a “running gag” and you are going to level with us that you’re joking...about 500 posts into the thread.

Maybe because she is attention-seeking bimbo.

Much more likely is when the group picture was to be taken, the group had to get closer together and GHWB just reflexively put his arm out to bring her closer, like you do, to put his arm around her shoulder. However, he is in a wheelchair and his shoulder height in not the same as standing and he inadvertently touched her, and if Babs was okay with GHWB action, you can bet there was nothing to this allegation.

And no, she is not entitled to her own opinion when she makes allegations like she did. GHWB is barely aware of his surroundings and for her to make serious allegations like she did, that is not opinion, she is saying it is FACT.

You like her acting, great, but you do know the person off-camera is not the same person you see on-camera.

Only a leftist would feel an actor on screen, playing a role in some movie/TV show you like, is the same person off-screen, and who decides to give credibility to someone just because they act?

Are you saying that any woman, at anytime, can allege sexual assault and the police are called and some guy is now observed being interviewed by the police on a matter of sexual assault. Even if cleared 100%, there will be many who feel he was guilty and got away with it.

Yeah, I know, we pretty much have that now but to do that to him would put the final nail in the coffin.

It is a sad day when boys/men are guilty based on a mere allegation and the police must be called to interrogate them as possible sexual offenders.

I think each state has their own standards of what qualifies as sexual assault.

Federal government has their own standards, too.

And what about true sexual assault victims? They see this woman making a charge of sexual assault while they truly suffered an assault of a sexual nature, and her allegation diminishes the severity of what they went through.

Briefly (and if happened, inadvertently) touching a rear-end versus physically assaulting a women are the same?

What next, throwing someone in jail for brushing against some woman in a crowded bar is sexual assault. . . oh, that’s right, that actually happened in Dubai (and that was a male brushing against another male).

“Well apparently he’s not harmless, because someone is alleging that he committed a crime against them.”

Interesting. We all know women don’t make up rape/sexual assault charges. So, saying he IS NOT harmless because of an allegation?

You: “If GHWB did what this woman alleges, then he is in fact a sex criminal.”

So we are entering the “if” realm but your posts indicate you believe he did because you side with the woman without considering that maybe she lied.

If he was accused by this same woman of murdering MLK, then the police should be called and an investigation should commence. An allegation is all that is needed.

But, we have common ground, it is an allegation, only. No facts or proof.

“And all of the people on this page defending him and attacking her with no actual reason to do so other than oh he’s GHWB and he’s 93 ARE ENABLING HIM.”

Wait. . .what? We are enabling him against what you admit is an allegation, and that is wrong? Could it be we support the Constitution.

We question the woman who made a serious allegation against a feeble old man in a wheelchair. You want the police called and investigate an allegation?

You: “If GHWB did what this woman alleges, then he is in fact a sex criminal.”

The word “IF” is instructive. Totally out of character, in a crowd with the wife and a photographer present, your initial reaction is to believe her and want a police investigation?

I have heard you sexually assaulted someone and the police must be called and the charge investigated, just to be sure, and if your co-workers, friends, family and neighbors hear you were investigated because you were accused of sexually assaulting someone, you know, women never lie and its about the seriousness of the allegation anyway, and I can count on many people forever believing you did sexually assault someone, regardless of the absence of proof.

And we all know, the absence of proof is proof of how good the cover-up is.

People have said something about a youtube video, but without a video, a link, a story or something, that’s really hearsay (if not slander). I saw nothing over there on this but it’s a rather broad search for videos.

I never said she isn’t lying.

It’s real damn clear what I said if you read my posts.

I’ll sum it up for you.

If what she said happened, then he committed a sex crime. If what she said happened, then she should report it to the police, because that is a sex crime.

Do I believe it’s possible that GHWB did this? Yes.

No, I am not going to call her a whore, and yes the people defending him with no possible way of knowing if he did this or did not do this are enabling him if, in fact, he did do this.

I have no reason to doubt her at this time, based on what she said, his apology, and the reaction of others that were there, I’m suspicious of him.

That is the sum total of my position.

There are different degrees of sexual assault.

William Hayden is serving multiple life sentences in Angola right now due to sexual assault on minors.

Not sure what your point is, it’s a serious crime.

Yeah, actually I do:

Says the law. Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient.

Sexual assault is ... non-consensual sexual touching of a person.

Read your own posting. Then defend that idiocy to the guys in the Duke lacrosse case, or the men wrongly accused by Tawana Brawley. Or the thousands of other incidents where innocent men have been railroaded by phony "victims" who were either on power trips, wanted revenge, or were such prudes that even a causal nudge constituted a trauma for them.

There's a big difference between some decrepit geezer in a wheelchair pinching your behind and a gang of thugs dragging you behind a dumpster and ...

“but he’s a harmless old man stuck in a wheelchair. All she had to do was step aside.”

Revolting. And also ‘victim blaming’.

He isn’t so harmless if he could make unwanted sexual contact. Her fault? How was she suppose to see him reaching for her from behind?

This thread is the most disturbing and revolting I have seen in ages. Deliberately touching someone’s ass uninvited is sexual assault. It does not matter ONE DAMN BIT how old you are or what kinda wheelchair you are in. “But I am old and in a wheelchair” is NO WHERE in the legal code allowing someone to get away with crimes.
Today I am ashamed to be associated with this site. And I met my wife here.
Everyone who thinks this is ok should be ashamed of themselves.

So how old does someone have to be to get this pass? 91? 85? 70? How wheelchair bound do they have to be? most of the time? All of the time? How much butt grabbing can they do before you people think it is a crime? Just a few pats? A bit of pinching?
WTF people!?! Sexual assault isn’t something you just laugh off due to age or what not.
