I love it!

If they really voted to declare independence, and not just the intent to do so, should we recognize them as a sovereign state?

Yes. The Elitists want one world government.

But then Brexit.
And Trump.
And Catalonia.

The people do not want one world government. The people want local rule. As they always have.

This is without a doubt an example of Catalan arrogance.

Fixed it for you.

Somewhere last year, I was reading an economic depiction of Spain and it’s fifty provinces. Roughly twelve of them make up fifty-percent of the tax revenue of the country. The areas with the tourism? They make up most of the twelve as well.

What Catalonia wanted was just some fairer way of tax revenue return to their own region. You couldn’t do that, without screwing over the lesser regions of the country.

Same problem brewing in Italy, and to a lesser degree in Germany.

“This is without a doubt a REJECTION of Globalism!”

I’d say it’s more a money issue. Catalonian taxes are largely spent outside of Catalonia. I don’t think, however, that any government they develop will be conservative. It will probably be just as socialist as the national government. Probably, the overall tax rate will go up, not down. They suddenly need to fund the infrastructure of a nation, with a military and all that implies. In two years as a free state you will see riots over the cost of maintaining the nation and the political giveaways their politicians will engage in.

Like California, they have not thought through the consequences of a win. Also, are they going to put up a border wall? Will they still be able to trade with the rest of the EU? I think both sides are making a huge mistake. If Spain goes into an occupation situation it will be a civil war. Spain should say, bye. And, then offer them a better deal in two years.

And, unfortunately, an affirmation of far-left anarchism.

Catalonian nationalists are Communists.

I would caution against coming to that conclusion. The city state known as catalunya Has long been the power center of the left in Spain. It was the Soviet union’s bastion in Spain.

the primary drivers of globalization are corporate oligarchists and their socialist drones. The catalans aren’t protesting the EU. They’re saying they want their own seat there. Globalists want Catalan independence. Without the EU, “catalunya” would be impossible. Spain would intervene. The Barcelona city state will owe its existence to the EU and be its most loyal subject. When countries try to exit ithe EU n the future, don’t be surprised when they too develop secessionist cities/regions ... quietly backed by the EU and globalists.

Nation states are the impediments to global government. Not city states. The devolution from nation states to city states greases the way for globalization bc coercion of city states is much easier.
