Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore serves as a convenient dividing line. If Republicans cannot oppose a former state supreme court justice ousted twice from the bench who espouses rabidly anti-Muslim views and believes homosexuality should be criminalized, the GOP is truly headed for the ash heap of history. So how are they doing?
In certainly the most cringe-worthy move of his career, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), a former Texas Supreme Court justice, declared that was proud to offer my support to Judge Roy Moore for U.S. Senate. I look forward to working with him to pass legislation that will effect meaningful change for all Americans.
However, a ray of sunshine peaked out from the gloom on the topic of Moore. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) announced he wouldnt support Moore. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), who has talked and written in eloquent, principled terms about our democratic creed and was one of the few senators not to endorse Trump, took a small step forward, breaking his sabbatical from moral leadership.
So the question remains: Where are the rest of the GOP senators and members of Congress on Moore? Can they bestir themselves to oppose a man surely as unfit for the Senate as Donald Trump is for the presidency? Listen, congressmen and women and senators move in packs. After a couple act, you might get a bunch more to stand up against Moore. And then another batch, and so on. As belated and comparatively mild as Sasses statement was, it should be welcomed. The more independent-minded Republicans are willing to push back against Trump, the better their party and our country will be.

Just another liberal scared to death of Americans.
Moore should not only be elected, he should replace McConnell as Majority Leader.
Wrong. If they oppose him they (Republicans) are on their way to extinction.
Jebbifer Rubin, Cheap Labor Express propagandist, is still heartbroken that her heartthrob Yeb! did not get to be Designated Loser like was planned.
Republicans, according to her, are supposed to be for amnesty and open borders.
No! No pictures, text only, please!
I’m, as many have probably seen, a huge Trump fan. But give him credit. He supported Moore’s primary foe. At least he stood up in that instance.
How many of these Senators vote in the State of Alabama?
How is what Jeff Flake or Ben Sasse thinks about Roy Moore relevant? They are not going to vote in December. Frankly, the stronger they oppose Moore, the better he will do with the voters of Alabama.
The Senate is not a club. Members cannot blackball those seeking to join.
You mean Ben Sasse the ass?
“proud to offer my support” is cringe-worthy?
It takes a lot to make me cringe. However, righteous indignation over the destruction of my country is mostly what I feel.
Get back to me if you find where Cornyn has carried out a treasonous act (or several) against the United States of America.
Let me know if you ever hear Roy Moore say he believes it’s okay to slice up, poison, or burn innocent little lives.
It goes without saying, but I’m sure I won’t be hearing from you.
Wishful thinking based on a bias point of view presented as a unbiased opinion. Those on the left are afraid of Roy Moore and the ideas he represent. They see years of effort being pushed aside. The Republican party may very well become extinct but that is not good news for the left as a stronger more conservative party will take it’s place.
Many Americans feels our nation has gone too far left so they welcome someone willing to stand up against the establishment and supports traditional values
One look at the byline and I knew the article would be a steaming pile of dook.
But it’s okay for Democrats to support sexual deviants, traitors, thugs, illiterates, racists, con men, doddering fools, communists, terrorists, criminals, and Barack Obama, who is all those things and more.
Why bother?
Since when is it wis to follow the advice of your enemies?

Yes! Prayerfully and with great hope, the GOPe Republicans are indeed headed for extinction!
We an easily oppose Jenny the Red Rubin and her commie compatriots.
THEY will be headed for extinction.
Soon.
Rubin is as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside. Just another hated-filled neo-con artist.
It seems like those who are anti-Trump and those who are anti-Moore are the same people.
