U.S. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Dallas, won't run for re-election next year. "Today I am announcing that I will not seek reelection to the US Congress in 2018. Although service in Congress remains the greatest privilege of my life, I never intended to make it a lifetime commitment, and I have already stayed far longer than I had originally planned," Hensarling wrote to supporters today. Hensarling has represented Congressional District 5 in the Dallas area since 2003. He chairs the powerful Financial Services Committee and has been a strong voice in regulating the financial industry.

I hope we hear more of this every day. A wholesale turnover in the Congress would be a good thing. Hell 535 people selected randomly from the phone book would be an improvement.

He’s got a lifetime Heritage Action Score of 84%, which is actually pretty good even for a Republican.
Wasn’t he a comservative who opposed Boehner? Pretty soon, there won’t be any conservstives left.
You’ll NEVER see a “democrat” do this. NEVER!
I like it.
It looks like his district includes part of the Dallas metro area, so maybe 84% is the best you’re going to get there.
Heritage is not the gold standard, imo.
Big backer of Rubio, among other issues.
P.S. — George W. Bush was a Texas Republican, too. Texas ain’t what it used to be.
It looks like this guy voted the opposite way Heritage wanted on budget bills, Puerto Rico financial relief, and Federal spending on health care and education. He voted for all these, while Heritage opposed them.

Translation: I’ve scored a sweet job on K Street.
They will have to drag Piglosi, Waters, Wilson, Feinswine, et al. out by the hair. Then drag Cummings, Schumer, et al. out by their parts.
Then we have to suffer with McLame, Linda Graham, and the GOP douche bags.
Dallas is a more friendly swamp for him now.
If he backed Rubio, he backs amnesty.
Cheap Labor Express losses another stooge.
Heritage backed Rubio
don’t know about Henserling

Read the breitbart article up now on this. Says this guy is a close friend of Ryan’s and establishment. Good he is leaving.
