There are reports on Twitter of the shooter yelling Allah Akbar, and there is a picture of a gunman with what looked like a sawed off shotgun. It is twitter so who knows.

Particularly when police told "everyone" (I guess the mayor and governor of NY are not real people) to stay way from that area. Yes, a place of "tradegy" they might well have created due to their liberal leanings.

In larger cities there are often designated left or right hand bike lanes just like regular auto lanes. This guy obviously wanted to cause maximum mayhem by running against the traffic direction.
