In 15 of those apparently lost Republican House districts, 14 of them went for Hillary in 2016, some by well over 60%. It’s remarkable the Republicans held on to as many as they did, especially in NoVA, which is becoming a rich gubmint worker Communist ghetto (whereas 20-30 years ago, these areas were heavily Conservative, pro-family GOP).
The Democrat and RINO Never Trumper voting Dem turnout, motivated by utter hate, was through the roof, even as GOP turnout was up.
Yes yes, a point I meant to make but probably forgot to was these would certainty be seats Shillery carried.
If they were up a year ago they would have been lost then instead of now.
Yes it was bad to not hold on to a few more, beat the friggin tranny at least, very painful for the people of VA. But it’s not a great shock that these now lib-leaning districts have starting sending rats to Richmond. Ticket splitting is on the way out, it was great that the GOP was able to win these seats 2 and 4 years ago but obviously that has changed.
And if we can pull 51-49 out the fire, that’s a good thing. Set the stage for some mild gains in 2019 perhaps.
This was a stinking election, as an urban dweller I find the spate of Mayoral losses particularly disappointing but also not a shock, did Donald Trump win any of these cities?
So then is it a huge disaster? I can’t say that. I didn’t see the rats cutting into much GOP territory. I don’t see how Claire McCaskil and Joe Manchin should be breathing easier because rats gained some state leg seats that Shillery won easily. Only US House seat I’m now worried about because of this is Babs Comstock’s in NOVA.
So it was bad, ok quite bad. But should we shake in fear at Pelosi’s inevitable coronation? I say chillax to that and take a breath. Angry people are the ones who turnout to vote, that’s why Prez’s party usually loses in midterms. We need to be as MAD as we were in 2010 and 2014, ANGRY but not downhearted. 2006 happened cause conservatives decided to cry in their beer instead of voting.
