Roy Moore's penchant for flirting with teen girls was "common knowledge" and "not a big secret" around Gadsden, according to some area residents.
The Senate candidate has denied any wrongdoing in the wake of a report from The Washington Post in which four women accused Moore of inappropriate advances - and in one instance, a sexual encounter - toward them when they were teens and he was in his early 30s.
One of the four women claims she was 14 at the time, making her the only one whose claim would represent a legal violation. Moore has said he never met her. A fifth woman came forward this afternoon.
Moore and other Republican leaders have questioned why it took so long for his accusers, now in their 50s, to come forward publicly.
And yet people who lived in Etowah County during that time have said Moore's flirting with and dating much younger women and girls was no secret.
"These stories have been going around this town for 30 years," said Blake Usry, who grew up in the area and lives in Gadsden. "Nobody could believe they hadn't come out yet."
Usry, a traveling nurse, said he knew several of the girls that Moore tried to flirt with.
"It's not a big secret in this town about Roy Moore," he said. "That's why it's sort of frustrating to watch" the public disbelieve the women who have come forward, he said.

This hit on him is just the GOPe and likely the left working together to get their pick in the seat. At this point neither care if its a D or a R that wins. As long as it’s not Moore. That is why they are talking about a write in. Moore will be on the ballot regardless of the outcome. A write in just ensures a D win.
you’re not wrong. When Sarah Palins daughter had 2 (2!!!) unwed pregnancies she was lauded as “starting the honeymoon early” I suspect had Mrs. Palin been a D., the good news would have been met with shouts of “whore!” So when it’s our guy, they are golden. Other guy? Not so much.
PS in this case, the guy was too old to be sniffing around young girls, period.

If a 32 year old man was sniffing around my 16yr old daughter I’d beat his ass. At least.
And I’d feel darn good about doing it.
I lived in the south, a lot of times I heard any kind of friendly conversation with a woman described as flirting even though it was innocent.
Like asking someone where they go to school or what church they belong to can innocent or flirting. Same with saying your dress looks pretty today.
This is different to what I saw in the North where flirting always involved saying something like we should go out sometime or I hope that we meet again. Flirting was borderline hitting on someone to tease them to go out with you which would definitely get you beat in the south if you were doing it with young girls.
Actually I know several people who go to the same restaurant daily or almost daily, that is not unusual. When I was in college I worked as a waitress for a while and there were customers that were regulars, as in we saw them nearly every day.
The thing that gets me is this is something that should be easily proven one way or another. The woman is claiming Moore was there every day and he is saying he was not familiar with the restaurant. At best if he was ever there more than once or twice he is not being honest- really if he was ever there at all after saying that it would still look bad for him.
For him to say the opposite of what she said (if indeed he said exactly what is reported) means he better be right. I find it hard to believe he would paint himself into that tight of a corner if he is not being truthful.
He seems to have no wiggle room on this, and it is something that is provable- so where is the evidence he was a regular?
I immediately assume off the top of my head that if Allred is involved it is just a liberal scam. I have been wrong before so I guess I will have to see how this plays out. The way this has all erupted right before the election I am sure it is just political dirty tricks.

I’ve been out of the game for a while. Do people even flirt any more, or do they just cut to the chase?
Amazing how Moore was still elected with all this ‘knowledge’ about him!
