Doug Jones, the Democrat running for Alabamas U.S. Senate seat, says he loves to hunt but the Second Amendment has limitations. He believes that every right enumerated in the Bill of Rights is limited, and the Second Amendment is no exception.
According to the Alabama Political Reporter, Jones described himself as a Second Amendment guy, but stressed that some gun control is necessary. He said, Weve got limitations on all constitutional amendments in one form or another. This position is contrary to the clear language of the amendment, which states that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
He stressed that he loves to hunt but still believes in smart gun laws.
During a September 24, 2017, appearance on Meet the Press, Jones said, The biggest issue, I think, thats facing the Second Amendment right now is that we need to make sure we shore up the National Crime Information System, the NICS system for background checks, to both keep guns out of the hands of criminals, but at the same time, cut down on error so that law-abiding citizens can get those.

sorry, Mr. Jones, but “shall not be infringed” is the only qualification of the second amendment. suggest you stop trying to fool around with our rights and find something constructive to do instead, like maybe abolishing all of the illegal “gun control laws, regulations, and restrictions” for starters?
Tribune readers poll: Moore leads Jones for U.S. Senate seat:
Any State Legislature could limit or ban hunting tomorrow without even touching the second amendment.
What a retard.
Yes.
Valerie Jarrett and George Soros.
That is why it is labeled: The Bill of Limited Rights. [/s]

Another Lib A-ho opens mouth and reveals ignorance. And yet, they continue to spawn.
Moore on December 12th!
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Where is the limitation?
Them’s fightin’ words in Alabama, no?
Even if you grant the moron his assumption, at this point there is obviously to much, so it needs to be rolled back.
Woodshed meet Jones. Jones; woodshed.
Now son, listen carefully because I only want to have to say this one time, gun control is all about hitting your target with accuracy, efficiency, and speed. Got it? Good.
Now let me never hear you speak of this again.
“Any State Legislature could limit or ban hunting tomorrow without even touching the second amendment.
What a retard.”
Someone may say to you, “You don’t need a 30-round magazine attached to a semi-automatic rifle to hunt deer.” The perfect response is as follows: “You know, you’re correct about that. On the other hand, the 2nd Amendment wasn’t written because the deer were coming.”
Actually, it does. Would you consider a bazooka “arms”. I would. To my knowledge, you can’t own one as a private citizen. Along with who knows how many other weapons.
The First Amendment has limits too. Yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater and all.
Yes, and so do laws protecting women and minorities.
We can simply ignore them about 40% of the time, since that's okay when it comes to the Second Amendment.
Yes. The founders recognized that standing armies present a clear danger to freedom. If the citizens had access to, and training (”well-regulated” in the lingo of the time) in the use of the weapons in common military use, the citizens could (a) be called upon to defend the nation if invaded, (b) defend themselves from criminals, (c) preserve freedom by having the ability to fight against the govt’s standing army.
Private ownership of cannons and armed ships (”privateers”, who were issued letters of marque and reprisal”) was common at the Founding.
Yes, there are limitations on the 2nd amendment.
It begins with your bodyguards
THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
Now please explain in CONSTITUTIONAL LANGUAGE, just what those limitations might be.
.
Keep on talking Doug!
Sink your own ship so we won’t have to do it for you.
.
What a ridiculous load of crap. Of course bazookas are covered under the second amendment.
As to the leftist lie that “ you can’t tell fire in a crowded theatre”; tell me genius, what do you yell when the theater is burning?
