NEWARK — The community college serving one of New Jersey’s largest counties has been embroiled in controversy for the better part of the last two years. What started with the quick, unexpected ouster of its president last Spring has spiraled into one scandal after another that are now threatening the federal funding that keeps Essex County College’s doors open.

The six scandals below have contributed to the Middle States Commission last week putting the college on probation. The school has another year to fix its finance and governance issues or risk losing its accreditation.

If they need a new College President I understand Bernie Sander’s wife may be available, that is if she is not convicted first.

So-called “Academics” are actually the most rigid, reactionary, bureaucratic, and political people you will ever meet.

“this was sometime a paradox, but now the time gives it proof..”

In America, its made worse by the fact they have been supported and have grown their power for many decades with massive government spending and massive debt (mostly students)

Scandals and turmoil should be threatening 2/3 of our colleges and universities IMHO.

It was nice to see my college represented in that picture. But for some reason no one from Faber College was there. Maybe their entire Jeopardy team was on double-secret probation.

In academia who is even more privileged than tenured professors? Top administrators.

Good choice. But they should be careful, maybe put him on double secret probation for six months.
