Life comes at you fast. Matt Lauer questioning Bill O'Reilly on getting terminated from Fox News. #irony pic.twitter.com/CB6qeIziGM— vmudream (@vmudream) November 29, 2017
Matt Lauer allegedly sexually assaulted a female NBC staffer during the Rio Olympics, sources told Page Six.
The staffer, who has not been named and wishes to remain anonymous, complained to NBC News bosses yesterday, prompting them to move fast and fire him.
A source told Page Six, An NBC staffer come forward with a claim that Matt sexually assaulted her at the Olympics. There have been rumors about Matt having affairs with subordinates at NBC for years, but those were believed to be consensual. This incident in Rio was not.
You believe every employee fired by anyone should have a jury trial in the court system?
I agree.
The thrill comes from getting someone youre not allowed to have.
Schadenfreude overload this morning! :D
No, but I'm saying more than a mere allegation shouldn't be a cause to terminate.
Remember, Judge Roy Moore has been similarly accused, but a closer look at the accusers' motives and histories shows there's reason to doubt their accounts.
OK. Thats it.
Im tired of winning.
DJT warned us this would happen...
*No, but I’m saying it should take more than a mere allegation to be a cause to terminate.
The sexual revolution’s chickens are coming home to roost.
The network does everything it can thing of to please you, day after day. They give you money, perks, prestige, and a steady supply of willing young interns to keep you happy.
It is like you're married to the network, and the network is a particularly willing and compliant spouse.
So, what went wrong, here?
Well, as many of you know, even the best marriages can eventually get to be... comfortable and routine. So the inclination is to spice things up a bit. Maybe a little pressure is applied. Maybe you take out those padded handcuffs you got at the bachelor party all those years ago...
And the next thing you know, you're assaulting an intern in Rio. Hey, these things happen!
I joked a while ago to my wife that it would be easier to start making a list of people in the media and hollywood that HAVEN’T been accused of sexual misconduct. Except now, that’s actually becoming true. It’s laughable frankly, the hypocrisy of it all. These idiots reap what they sow. I couldn’t care less.
Looking forward to moderating the #NBCNewsForum next week. Hope you will tune in! https://t.co/BwW5m3P2xn pic.twitter.com/d1NlFctijn— Matt Lauer (@MLauer) September 1, 2016
Good post and theories.
Several have wondered if their ultimate prize/goal is PDJT. (Good luck with that!)
It would be especially delicious IF Bannon were somehow connected to this culture change, wouldn’t it?
We know that there’s only an allegation? We know that there are no witnesses or video? That numerous Lauer escapades reported in the gossip media were just jealous rumors?
Companies are entitled to act in what they believe is their own best interest, especially when it comes to the ‘face of the franchise’.
And the accusations are as old as 40 years ago. As far as I know, nothing regarding recent behavior has been charged. It's a completely different story with these recent high profile men.
..and just wait till they dig into the Pizza(gate)
Of course. And for NBC to unload a heavyweight like Lauer, there was very likely sufficient cause. But when it comes to allegations, one should consider the case of Roy Moore -- those accusations don't pass the smell test.
Oh man, can you imagine what a bad-@zz he'd be running a naval vessel! Luv to know what he was like in the Navy! Sundance over @ CTH often talks about "cold anger" and how to channel it, add to that Bannon's training as a warrior, and I come up with a combo that is better than anything the Late Lee Atwater was, and those were big shoes!
