North Korea says new ICBM with ‘super-large heavy warhead’ completes its nuclear force

NORTH KOREA’S SCARIEST MISSILE YET: North Korea is declaring that its latest missile test shows it has mastered the rocket science to threaten the world with a nuclear attack. The missile was fired in the middle of the night North Korean time, 1:17 p.m. Washington time, and North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency pronounced it a roaring success. “After watching the successful launch of the new type ICBM Hwasong-15, Kim Jong Un declared with pride that now we have finally realized the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force,” KCNA reported.

MATTIS’ GRIM ASSESSMENT: There was no downplaying of the achievement by the Pentagon. “It went higher, frankly, than any previous shot they've taken. It's a research and development effort on their part to continue building ballistic missiles that could threaten everywhere in the world, basically,” said a somber Defense Secretary Jim Mattis just hours after the test. “The bottom line is, it's a continued effort to build a threat — a ballistic missile threat that endangers world peace, regional peace, and certainly, the United States,” Mattis said at a White House meeting with President Trump.

I’d say it’s seriously past time to disarm these criminals either covertly, and/or overtly with some possible well-timed and accurate surgical strikes.

Ha! The joke is on them. Everyone in America knows they aren’t capable of hitting DC with it. And that’s what matters most to all real Americans.

Nope, no way at all they could hit DC.

Most likely Fat Boy doesn’t want to get his hands dirty, or his country turned into a glass parking lot, so he’ll probably try to sell the tech to a rich terrorist group....

The problem with North Korea is that there are so many realistic scenarios where launching a preemptive nuclearvattack on the US is a rational decision on Kim’s part

I am concerned.

Clinton, Bush and Obama allowed nukes and missiles.

Now at program maturity we have Trump saying he’ll “take care of it”.

And we see nothing but diplomacy. Diplomacy is what got us here.

Where are the movement of forces?

Especially the US Air Force.

If we are being hamstrung by the South and/or Japan, the American people have a right to know that. We have a genuine need to know.

That way we can abandon treaties with those countries and seek out own security independent of them.

Because we, the United States of America, are faced with a very hostile nuclear force who regularly threatens to incinerate us...and is now demonstrating the capacity to do so.

While not all his fault, even at the margins, if Trump fumbles this one, millions of Americans will die.

General Mattis says they can.

Their flight to an apogee of 2,400 miles proves they can.

(C’mon man. I’m trying to goad little Kim into vaporizing DC so he can “prove” he could do it. )

But there’s no way. Only the purest revolution, of the superior Korean race, with a leader chosen by god himself could accomplish nuking DC. They could never do it. /s

“...with some possible well-timed and accurate surgical strikes.”

The North has pretty well distributed strike-back power. Along the DMZ and within range of Seoul they have an estimated 13,000 dug-in artillery pieces. That’s possibly half a million shells an hour into the most populated city in South Korea. Even if you ignore the lives lost, which nobody in a responsible position could, the political cost of even a successful attack on the North would be huge.

Each president has punted, opting to let somebody else take the political hit for taking out the North. And, then, lets suppose the attack was successful. What comes next? War with China over who gets possession? Mass starvation and war crimes by rogue Northern army units? Who takes the blame for that? And, there will be blame. Even if Trump managed to pull off an attack and takeover with minimum loss of life on all sides, the liberals will blow any negatives WAY out of proportion.

This is a bad situation. So far, Trump’s efforts have been focused on forcing the Chinese and possibly other political elements in the North to settle the issue themselves. That is a long game and takes lots of time. So far Trump seems to be doing okay. But it will take time.

Either they are a threat or they are not. If they are a true threat to the US and our pacific territories I would let Japan and South Korea know we will not be blackmailed any further and intend to take action with or without you.

If we are serious we need to begin a true buildup in the far east and put that theater on a war footing and removing US dependents etc...

At some point the US must walk away from the negotiating table and mean it. We have tried sanctions and agreements which have been broken with impunity time and again.

I would make one final play with China. We will pull out of South Korea militarily and you take out fat boy and with open US/UN inspections dismantle their nuclear program. If not we will inform Japan we will not oppose them securing nuclear weapons and will will protect ourselves and our interests with everything we have and any use of a WMD by NK will result in a FULL retaliatory response by the US.
