Can we put LA and San Fransicko on the other side of the wall?

I'm not so sure. Kate lived on the same street in San Fran where she was shot, or so I've read. That being the case, she likely was a proponent of sanctuary for crimigrants.
Tragic all around.

I agree. I understand that the bullet that killed her was a ricochet. But I also understand that he fired three shots. Firing three shots is not an “accident”. Maybe so for one shot. Also, you cannot fire three shots on the crowded San Francisco pier and NOT expect someone to be badly hurt. To me, those two facts make manslaughter a slam dunk.

My first thought when I heard the verdict was that the Prosecutor purposely presented a weak case. In other words the fix was inHad the same thought myself. I think the entire San Fran political and legal system did not want to render a guilty verdict because that would also be an indictment of their sanctuary city policies.

The jury convicted the gun, not the perp. Dangerous.

If that’s the case then it is an egregious miscarriage of Justice.

That’s the case - involuntary manslaughter was one possibility. First or second murder, or IM.

(Damn, the democrats haven't been this upset since Republicans freed their slaves.)
