My kids did competitive speech and debate all through high school. The first lesson that was drilled into them by every coach was that whichever person resorted to calling their opponent “Hilter” or inferring that their opponent was a “Nazi” automatically lost the debate. It was a lazy, cheap shot and indicated that you actually had no argument based on facts or logic.
All judges were also told to automatically deduct points from any competitor who did this as they were violating accepted rules of debate and resorting to fallacious and spurious methods, which negated any valid points they might make.
I was always amazed at people who would tout Obama’s brilliance when the truth of the matter is without the shielding of a sycophant press corp, he couldn’t hold his own against an average teenage debate student!
Just goes to show how morally bankrupt Obama is.
