I wish I could find the article from Howie Carr about Gerry Studds. He actually came on to multiple pages before being caught with the page who got him censured. Rather than being upset one of his colleagues joked about how embarrassed Gerry was going to be when his friends found out that he struck out so many times before in his seduction attempts.

#1 - I’m not convinced Stuart Smalley is going out the door until I see the video of him carrying out the last box of his office “stuff.” This is pure political manipulation and chicanery until proven otherwise, IMO.

#2 - The Dems’ expectation of “legislative scholarship” and “policy depth” is central to the discussion for the future. They knew what they were getting when they got behind a non-serious person in the first election. This whole attempt to appear more pure than the emperor’s wife will come to naught because the electorate is so easily manipulated through media messaging. The writer is correct that this can’t be covered up or easily dismissed but it has been proven that they can be convinced to “move on” because “it was just about sex.”
