Newt married his high school teacher. Maybe he could be quiet for a little while.

Well, the big differences here are that with Moore there's clear evidence of forgery and lying while with Franken there's a photograph.

Newt is usually, well sometimes anyway, smarter than this.

He's never faced his accusers, Gingrich said Sunday. He's never had to process. He's never had an opportunity to clear his name. Suddenly
the social pressure from the left and the Democratic Party came together, made it inappropriate for him to stay. Uh, Ms. Burke? May I call you Cathy? Um, Cathy, I think the phrase Newt used was "due process," not "to process."
If you're going to write for such a prestigious publication such as Newsweak, you should rely less on Spell Checker and more on a real human proofreader.

I’d be careful about telegraphing the idea these cases and individuals are all the same or guilty of the same thing.
More is not guilty of the things Franken did.
There’s a big difference between them.

It’s a repeat of all of the worst features of McCarthyism, and the liberals can’t see it. Their ignorance is matched only by their arrogance. It’s truly amazing.

I’d rather have a weakened Franken in a seat that’s likely to remain Dem, than say a Keith Ellison.
Who would we have a better chance of unseating Franken or Ellison in the next election (2020 I think)?
Newt’s right about due process, too, though I do love watching the Dems eat their own.

I'll have to agree with Newt on this one. I strongly believe in the rule of law and due process. As it stands right now neither Moore nor Franken are getting either. However; since Franken threw in the towel rather than fight the charges, he pretty much pleaded 'guilty' in the court of public opinion. Judge Moore is fighting the charge in the court of public opinion, and I would like to see this end up in a court of law with both parties providing verified evidence before a judge and jury. I do not believe in mob rule, although in some cases I just may look the other way.

Of course I won't be wasting any tears over Franken's demise, but Newt's right again. Minnesotans knew he was a raunchy comedian when they elected him, it wasn't an issue at the time. I just think it's funny watching lefties rip each other apart over this nonsense.
