Fascinating, ambitious project ... but I can't help wonder if that kind of investment can ever be justified. $12.9 billion for 200,000 daily riders? New Jersey has about 4.5 million people in its labor force. That's a lot of money for one project that handles less than 5% of them -- and takes them to jobs where they pay income taxes in another jurisdiction.
