It has gotten to the point that CNN doesn't care about any accuracy in their reporting; they're going for shock value, correct or not, and their "short attention span" audience doesn't care either whether it is accurate or not as long as it is what they want to hear.
They won't stop until a huge civil judgement brings them to their knees.
The CNN story makes no sense from their premise that Trump is a colluder.
If Trump was actually colluding, why would he need an email advising him about the Wikileaks publication? I mean he is a colluder, so he would know that himself.
Trying to be fair to Trump? Right. Try this on for size, CNN. Instead of rushing to embarrass yourselves, call the White House and give a heads-up and a chance to respond. You know, the way the press used to do.

I think Rush is missing the boat on this one.
First, CNN was absolutely convinced that its sources had the goods. CNN wasn’t lying; it was misled.
But, second, these were obviously trusted sources because CNN is still protecting them. If they were one-timers, CNN wouldn’t hesitate to point out that they relied on the wrong sources. No such claim has been made by CNN.
And, third, why would the sources lie? Clearly, the truth would quickly come out if they looked at a document and it said the 14th but one calls a reporter at CNN and says it’s the 4th and CNN finds a second source that says the same lie? This is not believable because sources want to be trusted too, and this lie, if really made, was bound to be revealed quickly.
Which leaves the obvious, especially given Rush’s claim that the sources were most likely Democrats (I’d add NeverTrumpers as a possibility as well) with access to intelligence reports, i.e., classified information. Obviously, someone fed them false information hoping they’d leak it. If only two or three people got the incorrect information, whoever fed the false information now knows who the leakers are and has valid proof that they leaked classified material.
It would be interesting to know what the leakers are thinking now. I’m guessing they’re scared stiff if they were fed a document that had the 4th on it and not the 14th.
By the way, this would also explain the unusual number of media reports that have had to be retracted over the past few weeks. Someone, probably at Justice, is running an op to out the regular leakers of classified material. It’s the most sensible explanation of what’s happening to media outlets like CNN lately.
