You’re arguing for raising taxes on upper middle class in California. Many are Republicans. When did the GOP and FR become supporters of raising taxes on private citizens? I thought Democrats were the tax-raisers

This is what happens in a populist movement, to hell with the guy who pays more than me in federal income taxes irrespective of the write offs! To hell with my fellow Americans no matter their political persuasion as long as big daddy Government gets it to feed the piggy trough the populist wins.

The tax rate is staying the same. The only change is the removal of subsidies.

Let's get this straight. This isn't a direct increase in taxes. It is the elimination of State Taxes as a deduction.

I think as a strategy, it puts more pain into the equation for those who tolerate Liberal state tax policies. Make high taxes hurt those people living in Liberal states, and they will start clamoring to get state taxes under control.

I think this serves the interest of fiscal conservatism in the long run. Making more people hate taxes is the best way to get rid of them.

If our people had made the worst aspects of Obamacare happen right away instead of trying to reduce it's impact, it would already be gone.

I’m just happy FReepers are admitting it’s the Federal Government’s money and letting us keep it is a subsidy. Because I get to laugh my ass off when they try to argue otherwise with the Liberals who beleive the same thing.
