60 Minutes claims 74% of “extremist-related killings” in US in last 10 years by “right-wing extremis

Full title : 60 Minutes claims 74% of “extremist-related killings” in US in last 10 years by “right-wing extremists,” not jihadis

This is a completely false statistic, designed to foster ignorance and complacency about the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat. And the establishment media repeats it, or variations of it, relentlessly. Here is why it is false:

1. It misleads immediately by covering only the last ten years. Why that period? What changed between 2006 and 2007? Why not go back 20 years? Because then the survey period would include 9/11, and would show Islamic jihad terrorists killing many, many more people than “right-wing extremists.” So they start it at a point that suits the data they want.

2. Counting the number of people killed by each group doesn’t take into account failed attacks, such as that of the New York subway jihad bomber last week. Nor does it include foiled plots.

3. Islamic jihad terror is an international movement, with jihad groups all over the world. White supremacism or “right-wing extremism” isn’t.

CBS News is a propaganda outlet for the left, not a news source.

My TV was on when 60 Minutes came on, had been watching local news. When Scott Pelley said more had been killed by these right wing extremists, I turned it off, figuring it was a slanted hit piece.

What are they wanting to minimize Muslim terror, by saying there are other threats to us? Yes there are other threats. But does that mean Muslim terror is not as big a threat? Why the need to twist things around to claim that white extremists cause more deaths?

Based on CBS criteria, we could easily say that the black youth gangs kill.more than either White extremists or Muslim terrorist groups. But would they ever go after the youth gangs with the same mindset as they have again alleged white racist groups???

I’ve looked into this research and they call everything that isn’t cut and dry jihadi as right wing.

Ten years conveniently leaves out 911 doesn’t it? Also what are they defining as right-wing? Are they leaving out all the like terrorist attacks to from places like the Boston bombing and Orlando Pulse night club? I’m interested to see what crimes they are calling right wing and which ones they are leaving out that is on the other side.

What? That’s absurd that young kid who had bipolar and all those other mental disorders that was on psychiatric medicine. He wasn’t political.

High School 1966 I had that book as well. Great Book, I still use lessons and practical experience to explain issues 50 years later.

Factor in population percentage. Muslims are what, 3 percent of the U.S. population? Yet manage to do over half of the terrorist killing. That’s off the charts savagery.

"What list of incidents did they produce? I don’t buy it. There are more ways to misrepresent the facts than just date parameters."

That's also my question. IIRC, the worst "right-wing" killings in recent years were the eight deaths caused by Dylan Roof at the black church. Meanwhile, we have San Bernardino, Orlando, and numerous others done by Jihadis.

I'm guessing they count any killings as "terrorism" if they are committed by anyone who ever expressed conservative opinions, even if the actual killing was motivated by a domestic dispute, road rage, or some other non-terrorist circumstance.

They know that liberals will believe and propagate their lies. Yahoo is probably already pimping this lie; just like they do other lies.

Good point. I just looked it up. They are actually only 1%

That’s the heart of it. What do THEY consider “right wing”? What do THEY consider “extremists”? Apparently, being violent leftists destroying colleges because they didn’t like a speaker doesn’t count. They always repeat that Timothy McVeigh was a “right wing Christian”, even though there’s no evidence to support it.

To them, anyone that is to the right of them is a “far right extremist”. As they go further left it just means “anyone normal”. I watch European media call anyone that dare criticize immigration policy or Islam “far right”. It can never be “concerned citizens” or “people mostly right of center”, it is always “far right”.

Amazingly, when comparing the policies of the Nazi’s and that of the left, they’re almost the same. Lies, lies, lies.

Exact opening from Pelley: “Terrorism has come to mean Islamist Extremism, but he fact is, since 9/11, more than twice as many Americans have been murdered by White Supremacists. This threat exploded into view this past August when a protest aimed at a Civil War monument in Charlottesville, Virginia ended with one dead and 19 injured.”

Not sure where the 74% figure came from, but as I looked into this, I found figures of 52 white supremacist killings in one year (2015?), or 242 since 1995. That’s hardly twice the 3000+ from 9/11 (one way to read his quote), or have their only been 26 or 121 Islamic Extremist killings since 9/11? (a different interpretation of his quote, but including more years than “since 9/11”)

I had a hard time accepting the rest of his feature as I was trying to make sense of his (probably-pulled-out-of-his-ass) figures, but good for this ex-neo-Nazi to try and right his wrongs.

And another point, why didn’t we hear of any of those 52 in the media, who one would think would’ve shouted each instance from many rooftops in the aftermath of St. Skittles.
