Honesty at its finest. I love it.
Uh, Jesus was a Jew...
Thank you Rabbi Spevok
Great Post!
Very nice story.
Hand-placed candy.
If a person offers someone well wishes with the pleasant greeting of “Merry Christmas”, they mean that person no harm. Our culture, striving to avoid perceived offense, is encouraging people to avoid contact with others and retreat into social isolationism rather than engaging people into a socially reasonable consensus Sad commentary on modern life
One year when I was in graduate school, I drew the name of a Jewish woman out of a secret Santa bag.
So... what did I do?
I bought her chocolate. She loved chocolate!
At the Christmas party, when she opened her secret Santa gift, her comment was, “Wow, someone around here really knows me!”
Hopefully, he will find Jesus before it is too late.
People that tattle to HR, go straight to hell. Nothing can be done.
Sweet! Thanks for posting!
He gets it
But did you ever thank her? Did you ever apologize for reporting her to HR? Are you writing this now to absolve yourself of guilt?
I have Jewish friend that I dearly love. I try to keep track of the Jewish holidays so I can send them greetings on the days and spend a lot of time on Google so I dont say the wrong thing.
In turn they share greetings with me on Christmas. Its the love and caring that matters.
We live in an era where I can have CVS or Walgreens make 70 personalized Christmas photo cards and five personalized Happy Hanukah Photo Cards. I send out both. Although this year it will be “Happy New Year” as Hanukah snuck up early.
Nice essay. So glad he decided to stop being a victim and come to understand how all can enjoy the meaning of the season. Thanks for posting.
Turned her into HR?! What kind of sorcery is this?!
Turned her in to HR.
I’ll never understand why people get offended when someone of another religion wishes them a happy Hanukkah or Christmas or Ramadan or Diwali or whatever. They’re trying to be nice. Let them.
I’m glad the guy learned but it seems like that should be the norm and not the exception.
I taped a candy cane to my door.
Upside down, oriented as a “J”.
