These so called experts are full of crap. Mrs. Fireman loves her car; it gets well over 100 miles per cord. Fortunately, it doesn't have to go through emissions testing since parts of it are over 20 years old.

This is shockingly stupid, or it would be if the “Global Warming” activists cared about what they claim to be battling.

If we burn wood, the captured carbon is released immediately. If we don’t burn wood, the same carbon is released over roughly a four year period. Choosing not to burn the wood accomplishes nothing in the long term. I burn wood in an indoor fireplace and an outdoor fireplace, and I have had leftist morons tell me that I am destroying Mother Earth. The Left is simply stupid.

...giant power stations, including Britain’s Drax generators, are increasingly abandoning gas or coal as power sources and are instead turning to the burning of wood, usually in the form of pellets imported from other countries such as the United States and Canada.

In order to "save the earth" the UK is generating electricity by burning wood ...

It's like some satire from The Onion !

I’d favor clean burning, carbon neutral, renewable whale oil...

I was thinking they could just burn the coal as usual, but buy wood to bury back in the coal mine.

Are these people all idiots? Biomass, hydrocarbons... etc, are all from plant material, (sometimes ancient plants like in fossil fuels.) Its all just plant material in different form, and with different efficiency of energy extraction depending on the technology used. Plants themselves use carbon based molecule’s to store energy, and that energy is solar energy.

Welcome warming, if any. Warming is energy and its free. And, it extends habitable land, growing seasons and plant and animal life cycles.

Sadly. like the many other climate changes in the past, if it does come it will be transitory.

There is no way we can sustain our civilization on SOLAR and WIND power alone!
-and that is what they want-to bring us back to the stone age.

Just wondering...before the avent of coal, oil, and other forms of heat, what did mankind use to keep warm for the previous multi-millennia?

You see, I have a saying that I passed down to my children:

All generations THINK they are smarter than the previous ones.

It occurs to me that what liberals hate most is one of the most fundamental of technologies that mankind has mastered - fire. They hate burning ANYTHING, whether inside an evil automobile engine, an electric power plant, or in your own heating system. They literally hate fire.

The other day I mentioned to someone that I had built a fire in my fireplace. They gave me a hard time for being so anti-Earth. I said, “Wood is a renewable resource, right?”

They screwed their face up and asked, “Do you seriously believe that??”

What can one say to such people? It’s just not worth trying.

City of Austin Texas bought into this idea.
Two billion dollars later they have a 100 MW generator that costs too much to run.

What do we want to save trees for?
The next big forest fire?
Wood is a great renewable resource.
Like all resources it has to be used wisely, not too much, not too little.
Not using it at all and have it rot or conflagrate in billion dollar calamities is not wise, it is actually quite wasteful.

Indeed! The reason our Blue Ridge Mountains are named such is the effect that the rotting wood has in returning to the atmosphere as a gas, giving the lower atmosphere a bluish tint on warm summer days as the biomass is being converted.
