An Alaska man who brutally attacked three registered sex offenders telling one he was an avenging angel says his experience should serve as a deterrent to anyone considering vigilante justice.
Jason Vukovich, 42, of Anchorage, is facing up to 25 years in prison after agreeing to plead guilty to first-degree attempted assault and a consolidated count of first-degree robbery in connection to the 2016 attacks. In exchange, prosecutors will drop more than a dozen charges, according to court records obtained by the Anchorage Daily News.
In a five-page letter sent to the newspaper in November, Vukovich said he was backing away from the earlier punishment he proposed for the 2016 assaults that his sentence be no longer than the combined prison terms of his three victims plus the sentence given to the man who Vukovich said molested him as a child.

Boy he is as legally dumb as Mike Flynn. Why plead at all, when he has a strong likelihood of getting off by claiming “victim trauma” made him lose control and attack them? Not saying it’s right, but that’s where we are as a society now.
I, of course only read the excerpt.
But I seriously doubt this moron was acting vigilante style.
Our courts and justice system is screwed up, no doubt. But not to the point where vigilantism is a necessity.
Not yet at least.
He probably made the error of talking to the cops at all. They lie and tell people that asking for a lawyer will make them look guilty and promise to “help”.
So, it’s against the law to do the job that gov’t is supposed to do, but doesn’t?
Jail time is necessary but since there were only three beat downs and no deaths, his sentence should be commensurate with the penalty given to those involved in bar fights........
As for Demerest, he was 57 at the time of his conviction and during the interview he's now claiming victim status because he's on the sexual offender list until he's 72? Sorry, no sympathy from me...........
It wasn’t worth it to him because he did it wrong. A real avenging angel appears out of nowhere and then disappears. If vigilantes were at least as skillful as murderers, they would stand a good chance at never getting caught. The overall murder clearance rate in the US is listed at 66%, but some urban areas come in at under 20%.

And I once read that something like 80% of the murders are never detected, based on an audit of coronors’ reports...
People will always take the law into their own hands when justice isn’t served.
Yes, and if you even think of killing a known terrorist...
You should avoid gratuitous insults to General Flynn when it’s obvious you have no idea what you’re talking about.
What you said - 100% !!
How many people are on these lists due to vindictive wives/kids? For about twenty years child abuse accusations were common in bitter custody disputes. Add to that the daycare witch hunts and you have a lot of innocent lives ruined.
Didn’t General Flynn lie about something not illegal?
He should have gone to jury trial. If I was on the jury I would have been happy to nullify with a not guilty vote.
