DMV registration appears to be a mess too. My daughter had to renew her driver’s license last week. She went, in person, and was told that she had to provide proof of legal residence in the US. She’s been a resident of VA and licensed driver since 1990. She pointed out to the clerk that her letter did not require that proof and the clerk wouldn’t budge. So, she went home and got her birth certificate and returned to stand in line AGAIN. 2nd clerk said 1st clerk was wrong. Needless to say, daughter was spitting mad.
