Of all the new laws going into effect Monday (legal cannabis in California, higher minimum wages in several states, and many more), you may be surprised about which one drew the most backlash online. It appears to be Oregon House Bill 2482, which allows people who live in counties with 40,000 residents or less to pump their own gas.

Oregonians aired their frustrations on Facebook over the new law. And just about everyone else in the country made fun of them.

New California laws going into effect in 2018 New era opens in California with first sales of recreational marijuana "I don't even know HOW to pump gas and I am 62, native Oregonian.....I say NO THANKS!" said Sandy Franklin on Facebook, in response to a post by local news station KTVL that asked for viewers' opinions on the new law.

I was just thinking about how much I appreciate the convenience of being able to get gas at the pump with a card even when the store part of the business is closed.

Heck...I recall a Flying Horse Mobil gas sign as a kid....

There was a caged enclosure with monkeys in it...right there at the station...You could feed them peanuts if you wanted....

.Anaheim, CA...around 1961-62 or so...

Checked your oil...pumped your gas..and washed the windows.

Hey I tried some Heirloom German Tomatoes this last year....and didn't like them in June or July...because they weren't setting...or when they did..they just sat there...small and green.

Well...come late Aug...and Sept..into Oct...they produced like no one's business. Kinda ugly...but great taste,,,,

On moving from Oregon to Calif., my friend stopped for gas in Calif. and when no attendant came she blew her horn, and the guy came out so she said, “fill it up please” and he said “What are you a PRINCESS...fill it up yourself”! LOL!! She had NO idea!!

Hear hear! My son has a brown thumb, I have a black thumb (I killed an air fern!) we tried straw bale gardening last year and even we were able to coax food out of it.

Fresh vine ripened San Marzano tomatoes are wonderful!

As I recall, the last time someone pumped my gas was at a truck stop in Oregon 11 years ago. I couldn’t believe the amount of wasted effort at such a plaace.

Hey Oregon liberals, it’s a familiar concept to you. Tab A goes into slot B... Only you’re doing it to your car, not taxpayers...

Actually, most of the people affected by this are not libs. It’s only in counties under 40k in population. I wonder if the interviewees were in those counties, or knew it was an option, not a requirement.

Well, I know the conservatives will be alright then.

Pity the poor liberals when they run out of gas in towns with no attendants!! Whatever shall they do? LOL

No attendants? Probably not an option.

I guess, as long as the prices support it.

Interestingly, another small Kansas town I worked in many years ago had the highest prices in about a 50 mile radius (possible exception a liberal enclave that didn’t care what they paid).

I NEVER bought gas in that town. Always waited until I headed back (it was few days long shifts on that particular assignment).
