US Agency to Hold Briefing on How Public Can Prepare for Nuclear War

A U.S. federal agency has scheduled a briefing for how the public can prepare for nuclear war.
“While a nuclear detonation is unlikely, it would have devastating results and there would be limited time to take critical protection steps,” stated the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on its website.
The notice about the briefing, scheduled for the Jan. 16, features a photograph of a mushroom cloud and notes that “planning and preparation can lessen deaths and illness” in the event of nuclear fallout.
Staying put and taking cover for at least 24 hours is “crucial to saving lives and reducing exposure to radiation” states the CDC, a national public health institute of the United States and a federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services.

Hyping the prospect of nuclear war for political gain is what the government did in the early ‘60’s. I remember the duck and cover drills. My family stockpiled food and water per government guidelines.
But the political fallout of this preparedness and the hype surrounding it was to redouble the anti-nuclear movement and the anti-war crowd. Both of these movements were financed by our enemies and, although they didn’t disarm the United States, they did change our culture helping to usher in the liberals by training up hordes of them from the hippie generation.
This is another example of the Law of Unintended Consequences.
If you and your loved ones are lucky enough to have survived the blast, burns and radiation of the initial burst and have not been blinded by looking towards the fireball, avoiding the immediate fallout is critical. The radioactive debris in the cloud are real killers and it's important NOT to get any of it into your system (it's the same advice for a biological or chemical attack as well).
For some stupid reason, none of the government pamphlets discuss getting upwind - but listen to me: get upwind.

This would be the same partisan CDC that attacked Trump with the phony “banned words list” and regularly calls gun deaths a “disease”.
I can see where you got your name. You manage to miss the fact that we were actually threatened by thermonuclear by the Soviets and we almost actually used them at least twice during the Kennedy presidency. All that Duck and Cover stuff may have saved some lives if they had actually begun the war.
The "Ban the Bomb movement" was started and funded by the Soviets through the American Communist Party to try to reduce American nuclear development/enhance their nuclear lead during the Cold War's first decade.
The network they had in place morphed into the "AntiVietnam War" "Peace" movement in the '60s, complete with re-naming the Ban the Bomb symbol to "Peace Symbol".
You make the same silly mistake of calling the pro-NVA Leftists "hippies"; they weren't the Hippies - a drugged-up, free sex, no rules group. No, the "antiwar" movement was a hard-edged and focused bunch of anti-US slimes intent on defeating the US in Asia, funded by and in correspondence with Hanoi, the Soviets, and the Chinese.

A nuclear detonation is inevitable. Way too many evil people have nukes. We just thought the Soviet Union was THE evil empire.
