Shaking my head at this beta-male quote from the article:
"I have nothing to hide. I understand that somebody had someone living in the garage. I dont, said Shelly Ia. I am following the rules. All I am asking is a reasonable way of going around this. If you want to do a monthly, bi-monthly inspection of my garage, I have nothing to hide. If I have something stored in there and you dont like it, Ill remove it."
Breaking and entering arrests will go down! /S
I hate HOA’s. Bunch of busybodies with time on their hands.
So I suppose the HOA is going to provide security to insure that it’s not “easy pickings” for thieves to help themselves from open garages in that neighborhood?
And if you have tools in your garage, you get to expose them every day so thieves can have their pick? Or they can just come right into the house and take your TV? Or your cat gets to roam the neighborhood after it uses the catbox?
Great idea. We just had a homeowner revolt in our neighborhood and unseated 3/5 of the HOA board. Might be time for these folks to do the same.
Please don’t give my retarded New Jersey town any new ideas. They already banned the use of “pods” or storage containers because they are afraid Jews might live or pray in them.
HOA can be a Mini Police State. The member having someone living in their garage should pay, not the members in general.
Heh, me too. How about, "My garage is my business, and if you don't like it, KMA."
I don't think that I'd fit in well with that neighborhood. "No HOA" was a requirement, when I bought my house.
.....as long as the members of the HOA
reimburse the home owner for ANYTHING that is stolen or missing....PLUS serve prison time.
"...open garage doors..."
Instant lawsuit.
My whole life Ive never heard a good HOA story.
Typical bureaucrat response to a problem: mandate a knee jerk solution that will cause many more problems than it will ever solve.
"I have nothing to hide. I understand that somebody had someone living in the garage. I don’t,” said Shelly Ia. “I am following the rules. All I am asking is a reasonable way of going around this. If you want to do a monthly, bi-monthly inspection of my garage, I have nothing to hide. If I have something stored in there and you don’t like it, I’ll remove it."
I'd put it a hell of a lot farther down the list than just a beta male. Perhaps he's a eunich?
Can someone tell me what business it is of the HOA if I do have someone living in my garage?
In fact, if any homeowner in the HOA wants to put a stop to this, they should notify their insurance carrier of this stupid rule. The insurance company would probably get on the HOA's ass over this.
History sure repeats itself at an ever decreasing ratio from time.
Gargestapo.
I would buy a bunch of manikins and stage shows every day.
Remember, you can play by the rules and still be an a hole.
Cousin had a house in an HOA. Replaced his door. Got served a notice demanding he buy an “approved” door from someone on the HOA’s brother.
My cousin had all kinds of fun with that. Enough that everyone else on his street started buying non approved doors.
Reason number 987 why I won’t ever live in an HOA community. That being said, define “open”. I would allow the garage door to be “opened” one inch. It is open and not securely closed.... just my way of thinking about it. :)
Since many would agree that ones garage is part of the house and Im allowed to eat a block of cheese while sitting on my couch naked, then it reasons that I could sit in my garage naked while eating said block of cheese during the hours of 8am-4pm. Like Shelly said, Ive got nothing to hide.
We see drones slowly going through the streets and suspect they film for our HOA. Two neighbors have had inflatable pools—behind their fences where they couldn’t be seen from the road or other houses—and were fined for it.
