I agree that the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.
However, I think Mr. Manning would have a better chance of being elected Senator by the state legislature of Maryland than he does of being elected by a majority of the voters of Maryland.
Manning did not give his country 'humane treatment'....at taxpayer expense and demands made as if by right is stunning. Manning is now He-she-it". How sick to think He-She-It can mess with our government...even the LGBTQ should be leery of this sick person.
Has MD had anyone good since Spiro T. Agnew? He does look a little better in retrospect, and he fooled Nixon for a while.

Maryland Democrats are very leftist. Manning is a favorite of Obama and other influential Democrats. Cardin is in his mid 70’s. Cardin is a Clinton stooge with no career achievements and no strong support. Some Soros money and leftist organizing could give Manning the nomination.
Cardin is definitely the favorite, but stranger things have happened among Maryland Democrats.

The Constitution lays out the qualifications for a U.S. Senator. Felony convictions aren't included and states can't ban candidates because of them.
This is why patriots need to get state lawmakers up to speed with the major constitutional problem that the corrupt feds are stealing state revenues by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.

The state legislatures need to elect federal senators who will kill appropriations bills that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Statutory law cannot override the Constitution.
