How did people of this kind ever get in control here. We might as well ask.
Christianity became spoiled by its earthly success in its old strong territory. It became proud and even altogether unbelieving.
Without the power of God, which only comes to the aid of those who will believe, Christianity is now only another idea on the mart. And in earthly terms, it seems impossibly speculative. Unless people are willing to acknowledge a looming heaven while on earth (going there caps off the story) the Christian story will not win adherence. And societies that were architected on it will split into secularized liberal/conservative divides, each piece vainly trying to perpetuate different aspects of God without the associated power.
(Sotto voce: people who blame God for letting them choose to commit to hell or heaven are the sorriest people in the world. Truly there is nothing that can be noble about a puppet or about a happenstance. Only choosing can allow a person to be elevated to nobility of freedom.)
>>So some Africans off the boat are more than capable of making it here and assimilating, but Id suggest that applies mostly to those who were schooled in English style schools the way these were, people who want freedom to succeed and are not looking to milk the system.<<
The most interesting part of the article was where she explained that it was impossible for a Senegalese to set up a private business in his local area because his extended family would expect to be given free stuff from his stock whenever they asked.
I suspect those Nigerians you speak of were not only the product of English schools, but that those schools, unlike ours today, still taught traditional American values, starting with observance of the Ten Commandments.
“Thou shalt not steal” isn’t part of the culture of Senegal apparently, and has to be taught by someone outside their culture.
What Africa needs is more missionaries, not more aid. Until the culture changes, they will remain poor or, if rich, will revert to poor.
Then again, if they’re happy in their circumstances, just leave them alone? No doubt today’s liberals would argue “don’t mess with their culture.”
Tribalism does very well with islam as they both are rooted in the same level of political evolution... the law of the jungle.
If you have the nuts to defend what you take, take it. This is the piratical purpose and intent that is the spine of islam, and contrary to the civility brought by the cornerstone the Magna Carta.
Yep. 800 years of political thought and evolution.
That is why there are developed nations and s-oles.
... and I don’t want to be a sole man.
Moochingand the arrogance to think one is entitled to do itpervades all eras and cultures to a greater or lesser degree. The native-born leftists of this country don't have much disagreement, philosophically, to what these Senegalese are doing to themselves. They've gone a long away to making such a culture a reality here on a vastly larger, social, government-sanctioned scale.
There’s a chance you’ve been “shadow banned.” Basically, if the admin-moderators of your facebook account decide you post objectionable material, they allow you to post it but block everyone else from seeing it.
You might ask a friend you trust on facebook to look at your account to see if your post can be seen.
If you have been shadow banned can a friend come to your timeline and see your post?
If someone responds to your political post does that mean they get all of your political posts?
Does a shadow ban include non-political posts?
Thanx.
I have posted an then deleted some stuff from Daniel Greenfied. I have multiple Friend lists, some get the bland greeting card sentimental stuff, a few get political stuff.

Short answer: If someone else on Facebook addresses your post in way that indicates theyve read it (such as quoting you) then you havent been shadow-banned. The Orwellian nature of a shadow ban puts the definition of what is or isnt offensive/political in the hands of someone elseeven if the sites rules for posting define offensive behavior.
Long answer: Im not on facebook, but the technique of shadow banning by social media companies is a thing that was covered in the news in the past week or so. The way you described your post on Facebook not being seen led me to think that might be happening. I suggest using google or bing to search the term. Or maybe another FReeper will jump in with more helpful advice.
Been reading about twitter and FB shadow banning. I get some responses to most of my posts but some I think are hot nothing.
I tested a friend and she said she sees my political posts. She is apolitical and just ignores them
I am strong against islam and tow the conservative line on most posts. At this point I conclude I am not banned.
Thanx.
You seem awfully holier-than-thou and judgmental. I don’t think god likes people like that.
Is this your way of avoiding answering simple questions?
I’ll try again...
Why did god, who made us all, make all those poor wretched people unwilling? (whatever that means)
You invite judgment by your manner.
Once you ask about God, not ‘god’, then I may furnish an answer — that is if it isn’t another strawman bash.
Hilarious!
