Democrats and Republicans have agreed to a deal which will end the US government shutdown.
The government partially shut down on Friday after a funding deadline ran out because the two parties had failed to agree on a deal.
On Monday afternoon Democratic senators announced they have agreed to a deal with the Republicans which paves the way to reopen the federal government.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the party's most senior senator, announced that the party would vote to advance a plan to reopen the government.

Exactly. But the damage is done. The Democrats will now be painted as favoring illegal aliens over citizens. The added bonus is that the statement is true.

All the communists Democrats have to do now is introduce a right to vote for illegal immigrants and it will pass the Senate with all Democrats and 4 or 5 Republicans to vote for it. And they will get it.

The deal means the Republicans will promise to hold a vote on an immigration bill which would protect an estimated 800,000 undocumented child migrants from deportation in exchange for the Democrats agreeing to end the shutdown.
I want the details but it looks like mc connell just gives them a vote on immigration before FEB 8. WE still have them by the DacA balls and we get 100% of the wall. end chain, no lottery and merit legal immigration. but let me express this one caveat. If by any chance this deal delinks daca with the WALL, ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE!! Shirley not— (and don’t call me shirley). If that it is the McConnell sell out or defeat in the House. IF the deal we will fully expect a big fat VETO!!

Schumer probably got word that this shutdown was being blamed on the Dems.

The Dems had to cave. The normal propaganda lies blaming the Repubs was not working, 1st time ever!

If the Senate passes a clean DACA bill, there is going to be enormous pressure on Republicans to accept it in the House. There may be some very minor concessions to Republicans in the House version, but nothing big like The Wall or and end to chain migration. Also, there is a good chance that the House may flip this fall.
The stumbling block to legislation is always the Senate. Having clean DACA amnesty already passing in the Senate removes that huge obstacle and would really pave the way for at best a slightly watered down version of it to actually happen.
So what are the chances of a Senate Amnesty Bill getting approved in the House ?

I agree but unfortunately we don’t get 100% of everything we want anymore than the other side does. Public opinion is in favor of protecting the DACA people but not chain migration. Most people want the wall and future protections and deporting the other illegals (other than DACA people). Personally, I would like to see them all gone but that’s not going to happen. Still, if we get an end to chain migration, the wall, and the end to the visa lottery, we have won and get more than any other president has been able to get.
McConnell let Schumer slow roast over the PR coals all weekend then gave him a way out of a no win situation for two weeks. I doubt the GOP has offered him anything substantial.
The Senate can do any DACA bill they want - BUT it must end the lottery, it must end chain migration and, most important, it must fund building the wall - or it goes no where in the House. Even if the House passes a weakened version, it will be vetoed and they will not be able to override.

I have a brain, and I know how to use it. I don't look to opinion polls to tell me what to think.

In the movie, “The Founder”, Ray Crock buys McDonalds from the brothers and promises some profit sharing o some sort if they sign. At the end of the movie, the point is made that they never saw a dime of that extra money.
I used to sell commercial real estate. McDonalds was, in essence, a real estate company. Donald trump is a real estate investor. We all know that if it isn’t in writing, it doesn’t exist.
