If you are in Jersey, I am SURE you can do much better for pizza.

Squalid pizza, Islam fanatic. Hellfire sermons in which the expiation isn’t to lay your sins on Jesus but to kill unbelievers. We live in interesting times.

Pizzaland in a neighboring town from me (that was featured in “The Sopranos”) now has Egyptians running it. They still make great pizza, and they hang enough religious articles to make it clear that they are Christians, but Italians, like other European groups, are simply abandoning NJ (though they are still our largest ethnic group). FWIW, the clientele is also increasingly non-European.
On a related note, the mutants in “Jersey Shore” were from NY, not NJ - just had to add that in there.

I never saw Jersey Shore, Sopranos or "Real Housewives of Anywhere". The last show I saw that featured New Jersey was a Candid Camera with Allen Funt, where a road block was set up at a rural border, claiming the state was "closed".
However, I grew up in CT and am well familiar with pizza culture. The Poles, Germans and Irish figured out long ago that "Hey, their stuff is better than our stuff". The Swedes in Rockford, Illinois never figured it out, and the pizza suffered, despite having enough Italians.

Given the fact that these seem to be groups of extended family members, it would be interesting to know if they were beneficiaries of chain migration. I don't think we have special visa class for pizza makers like we do for agricultural workers to pick our tomatoes.

Albanians have pretty much taken over the “independent” Italian joints in Texas, to the point that I now eat mostly at chain Italian joints. Sneer if you want but at least one has a chance that the kitchen has been cleaned with Clorox.
I worked with a nice enough guy 10 years ago to wrap up a contract with over 400 restaurants, all of then tied together through the Albanian immigrant families (he claimed).
As many other have discovered they simply will never sign, never intend to and will only deal with their own clan. Thankfully I dropped it after a couple of weeks.
But I strongly suspected that these places were less about food and more about money laundering, drug trade, illegal immigration and welfare fraud.
Have no proof but Albanians were looked down by my relatives in Europe for a reason.

Excellent article
The coldest psycopaths in the terrorist trade arent those who blow themselves up to kill women snd children
Its the ones who mastermind the operation, prey on the weak minded and damaged, recruit them and their children to die for a glorious irrational cause
Then - while the police and medics are scraping up scorched human meat and shreds of flesh - go on planning the next one to be bigger snd blooder

Heck, if you want pizza and you are in NJ, go to New Haven and get a great pizza from Wooster Street (Pepe’s, Sal’s or Modern Apizza). Go for a white clam pizza....

Heck, for pizza (in CT), I get suspicious if they offer grinders or side salads. (Exception for Lido's of Meriden , who offers a full Italian menu and still has a satisfactory pizza).
I am also doubtful there is good pizza in Teterboro, NJ.

Well, no accounting for taste. Maybe you don't really LIKE pizza. The Greeks can give you a nice fat piece of bread with some stuff on top, I guess. What keeps you in Connecticut?

Unfortunately, when I drive to Connecticut for business or extended family, I drive around New Jersey and take I-81, to avoid traffic, and frankly, New Jersey.

I’ve spent some time in Rockford and it seemed strangely devoid of good eating establishments of any kind.
