No, that is the situation. Just the most useful map.

The worst news for the Kurds there is that there is no news coverage. Best chance is to hold off Turkey and have atrocities on the West’s TVs.

Russia (and China) likes having Turkey fight a US ally, but Syria knows Turkey is liable to stay. They’ve annexed parts of NW Syria before.
It’s a tough situation for the Kurds in Afrin. Doesn’t knock them to point that out.

There is news coming out if you know where to look.

The worst damage and loss of life is from the air attack Turkey made. Reported 72 planes in initial attack. Almost all of the deaths were civilians. Many women and children. Random attacks no attempt to pick military targets, typical terrorist attacks (Turkey & the FSA Terrorist)

Initially several villages were shelled and overun by FSA and Turkey soldiers, all of them taken back in counter attacks.

Turkish forces briefly captured Mount Basrayah, it was retaken with a SDF counter attack and they were still holding it the last time I had information about it.

3 Turkish tanks destroyed, many FSA soldiers killed, First evening when ground assault failed or were repulsed, they bombed everything. Including downtown Efrin. Targeted fuel storage there.

So far the Syrian fighters have held them well. The FSA knows what they face and they fear them.

I’ve seen reports of 3 Turkish soldiers being burried. Not sure of their rank, expect they were advisors to the FSA elements.

Turkey is complaining about a resupply and troop movement path had been opened from the district held by Assad forces connecting Efrin to other Rojava locations.

Pressure is being applied by representatives to UN, the EU and in the US.

I can show you photos of the bombing damage and some of the casualties. I’d rather not and don’t think you would want to see them. Of course the Turks are pasting them on Twitter like a badge of courage. Courage? Killing defenseless women and children? Headshake.

Some example they set for a NATO member. (sarcasm)
