...They expect Trump to abuse his executive power to fire Mueller, weaponize his various departments, make power alliances with GOPe and otherwise muscle his way into a position of control in DC...

That’s simply because it’s the way Democrats and other liberals do business.

I would argue that what was isn’t necessarily any more.

Excluding the bureaucrats and narrowing the focus to Republicans, I would argue that many of the Republican swamp dwellers have joined the team.

The reason, the obvious reason, is they want and need to claim some credit for the overwhelming success. It turns out, they were just wrong.

As I enjoy my popcorn I keep a close eye on Joe Manchin of West Virginia. He and other Democrats want and need to claim some credit. All they need to do (and may actually have to do) is defect.

Very appropriate quote. That gets right to the very heart of it.

For years we were warned that if we attempted to stop the communist/socialist/one-world takeover of our country, arrest the Clintons, arrest Obama, there would be massive rioting throughout the land. I believe Antifa and BLM are probably the seeds for this.

Had Trump taken office and immediately gone full speed ahead in draining the swamp, the riots would have been set off in a big way. By dribbling out the criminal deeds of the deep state bit by bit...and allowing the public to absorb the data slowly...he will probably avoid the rioting. He’s been giving us a new atrocity almost daily.

What we know for sure of Trump’s ways, he would have fired Sessions quickly for non-performance had it not been the game plan all along.

Trump appears to lose before winning.
Learn from it. It is nerve racking to watch. But he appears weak & humble to the enemy before he strikes.

Excellent strategy. But eventually he will lose a battle along the way.

The “bombshell” story is not even front and center on the Yahoo news page.

That just proves how almost no one gives a rat’s @ss about what the NYT is peddling.

Maybe that is why the President, Tom Brady, and Robert Kraft the owner of the New England Patriots are friends.

and the Fox News poll that has Trump’s approval at 45%.

Even CNN’s poll(lol) has Trump at 43% approval.

And, of course, the generic ballot gap is rapidly shrinking... which needs to be north of 10 if the rats have a prayer of taking the House.

Even Stuart Rothenburg admitted on PBS that if it’s +6(as it now is in many polls), the Republicans keep the House.

In fact, some polls have the gap at +5.

The RCP’s average has it at 7.9, and that includes ridiculous results from Quinnipiac and Pew.

Perhaps there's nothing like economic success to change minds; and a transformation from a "redistribution" mentality to a "creation of wealth" mentality, such as that which existed in America even before 1776, was swift and productive following years of Democrat and Republican Progressive ideology domination.

All the world now has an example of what can happen when, under limited government and individual freedom, citizens--whether as individuals, small businesses, or heads of large corporations--will make decisions which benefit both themselves and the entire population.

Remember that great moral philosopher, Adam Smith? What was described above sums up his conclusions about economic outcomes when each citizen pursues his own personal benefits, and the outcome benefits his neighbors and the entire society.

.
>> “Let’s hope that he weakens it enough that it will take nearly forever to get it back to where it was when he took office” <<

The irony of the situation is that ALL of the “kingdoms of men” will come to an abrupt end in the fall of 2024, on the “Day of Trumpets.”

After that its the Kingdom of Yehova.
(there won’t be any election, either)

Everyone should read this post by Ryderann. We, as a Nation, were being divided by the socialists since the Red Decade. The populace functions as a mindless mob now unable to think in principle by design of John Dewey's Progressive education.
