I don't think you are correct about that. Why would Sirius/XM need an artists permission to create a dedicated channel anyhow? I doubt they got Elvis' permission as he died decades before satellite radio was invented.

Also, Bob Dylan did a show on Sirius a few years back. "Theme Time Radio Hour" or something like that.

They had to license the name and likeness of the artist for each channel. They got permission from the Prestley estate for the Elvis channel. When Tom Petty was alive, he actually spoke about this extensively a couple of times on *his* SiriusXM channel.

Hosting a show is rather completely different from having an exclusive channel.
