Student activists at Oklahoma State University want the school's bias response team to have the power to punish students for racially insensitive statements.
"We submit that that the university make an amendment to the student code of conduct's social justice legislation section to add language that will make 'racially insensitive and/or racist rhetoric and behavior made public knowledge' a punishable action," wrote the students, who call themselves "The Four Percent."

Call it the Thought Crimes Unit.
Did Orwell own an actual real crystal ball????
With exemptions for statements leveled at whitey, of course.
Scratch a progressive and you find a fascist.
Worthless little pissant nazis.
Some people need to be removed from this free country in order for it to remain free.
This has “will backfire” written all over it.
“Did Orwell own an actual real crystal ball????”
It does seem that way. I think the truth is that in any situation there are only so many possible responses and he understood how people with power responded.
As an alum of OKST, I find this whole thing just craptacular. The university president is generally a decent fellow but a total milquetoast when it comes to dealing with such irrational BS. Through the 60s & 70s, little of such outside rabble-rousing had much of a lasting impact on the campus. Today is another matter because raising any kind of principled objection will get you railroaded to the “racist re-education” camp in a quick minute.
Give them brown shirts to wear.
And spiffy armbands...
Call it the Sturmabteilung ... and they can all wear these nifty brown shirts ...
Beat me by seven seconds!!!
Oklahoma, the only state to go completely RED in the election. Now, being targeted by the leftists.
They just want no white male students. Easily arranged, once this story gets out. :)
Will they have bullet-proof vests with “BRT” — Bias Response Team emblazoned on them?
Ever hear of the first amendment kids?
It's called "freedom of speech".
Not "restriction of speech" because you don't like it.
When I was at university 50 years ago, pushing the envelope on speech was encouraged and promoted.
In today's colleges, one had better not even get close to the edges of the envelope or they'll come after you.
My take is...
Scratch a liberal and a totalitarian bleeds.
“add language that will make ‘racially insensitive and/or racist rhetoric and behavior made public knowledge’ a punishable action”
Well, if enforced across the board (and not selectively) that would shut down most of the black organizations.
1984 should be required reading in 7th grade and again in high school and once again in college.
