Another OSU alum here, from 1965-1969 and again 1973-1976 with the Marine Corps in between. We did have some SDS freakazoids but most of us just ignored them.
“Racially insensitive” is a pretty vague standard. You’re guilty if someone else doesn’t like what you said, even if there was no racist intent and a normal person reading the words would find them entirely unobjectionable.

Bachelor’s 1973-77 so we had some overlap. My US Army time followed graduation. By 1973, most of the SDS-types had moved on or quieted down. I did see some photos in the ROTC building of minor protests in your first pass through OSU but it was nothing like schools on either coast. I was told some stories of ROTC-types and aggies ganging up to face down the freakazoids but have no idea of the truth behind the stories.
Why don’t they just put out a big, bright sign that says, “NO WHITES - NO CHRISTIANS” and get it over with.
I hope those looking at schools will pass this one up.
